just a few shots from the 2nd quarry visit. This time we had to petrol lamps...

01

One of the first views to be seen after we entered and got our eyes used to the dark. This is a natural cave inside the quarry.

02

what can i say......this one has the feeling i got when i'm walking down there....almost....the real thing's even better!

thanks to mipjes for helping out taking this shot!

03

This is called the cathedral.

04

Some kind of entrance with a locked door.......who knows what behind it. Nah....sorry....this was build to support the farm that's right above it. Would be cool though if this was an entrance - hehehe

05

Beautiful daylight coming in. There's a good story about these 'light pits'. There are all kind of small animals (like mice) and insects that fall into these wholes. They stay in the light untill they die. Some even start to eat each other. The only way out - in animal logic - is to go towards the light....you can imagine that although very beautiful, this is also a pile of death.

At first glance I thought this was in Paris, a little digging proves otherwise. Good show! You're turning to the dark side, soon all you'll want to do is explore underground and crawl through tiny holes covered in dirt and mud. MAN MUD.

you're so right Dsankt! You got me into that underground stuff. Too bad we don't have great drains here in Holland.

There are more quarries in this area, the next time i'm going i should do a more adventurous route (climbing some walls and crawling through tiny holes). That's gonna be great!

(btw: i might make it to london before august)

Dude, WAY better than the first ones. I'd like to give a longer critique but must go to bed. 2, 3, and 5 are sooo good. Much better treatment of the location and great light work. The silhouette is one of my favorite effects!
