Too much work, fever and so on, those are the main reasons for my (waited?) quietness. But here we go again (my apology).

I really like them all, number one being my favorite. I also like how you didn't over process your HDR shots.

My least favorite is probably number three. I like the lighting from behind the curtains but something just seems crooked. An interesting picture, nonetheless.

nice work. #2 and 3 are awesome.

I agree with everyone else...your HDRs look great, not faked up like most do.

As for shot #1, it doesn't do much for me; I'm not a fan of flowers, and the composition doesn't pull me in either.

#2 is technically very well done IMO. Again, the subject doesn't compel me greatly, but the execution of the shot and processing is first rate.

I like #3 & #4 very much; both are well-composed & exposed, and the PP on them is spot on. There are however a couple tweaks I think that could make them stronger...

#3: First, let me say that I LOVE the cheese pizza carpet! There are two adjustments I would make to this image:

a.Square up the whole compo; it slopes down to the left, using the baseboard behind the couch as a level reference.

(In Photoshop, menu selection: Image > Rotate Canvas.)

b. Adjust the horizontal perspective around the right just a bit, to square up the angle on the couch, and more importantly, the curtain rod.

(In Photoshop, menu selection: Filter > Distort > Lens Correction - Horizontal Perspective.)

Here's what it looks after the changes listed above:

#4: Almost identical adjustments to #3, first rotate the canvas slightly to get the wall corner & door frame closer to square (not completely though), then adjust the vertical perspective to square up the edge of the door with the edge of the frame, which will also finish squaring up the corner of the wall and door frame by the couch.

(In Photoshop, menu selection: Image > Rotate Canvas.)

(In Photoshop, menu selection: Filter > Distort > Lens Correction - Vertical Perspective.)

Here it is after these changes:

You'll probably notice that these changes also very slightly crop the image; this can't be avoided, but if in fact you already cropped these images down from a wider composition, you would want to make these changes on the originals, not the already cropped versions, to retain the integrity of the desired composition.

Finally, I should say that I know these adjustments are pretty picky; most folks wouldn't even notice these elements, but I think ultimately becoming a fine photographer entails paying attention to the fine details, as it's usually what distinguishes a talented photographer from a point-n-shooter.

Good Luck!

Thanks! That was best comment ever, and I think I did get lot of it (and it did make me happy). And I've been spent long time with thinking how the hell I could correct perspective - thats quite problem with my digicompact when shooting in wide. So double thanks from that!

But other side; in that 'cheese carpet' photo strange perspective could be even right - that room really was tilted almost every direction.

And that flower photo, I did try to get something like 'spring on abandoned houses yard' or something like that, those flowers live only for little while on spring and background is old stable, painted with redmould paint. There wasn't too much of 'em (flowers), so this was best I was able to get there. Quite far from decent UE, but the mood..?

Wolfheart:

like Stoop_Master said: I usually hate your work, but it also seems that there's not that much to explore where you are living so you are working with what you have.
And on to the good part... these pics are great and I really enjoyed looking at them. I'm excited to see you advancing.

my critique:
#1: this is an all around good picture. Flowers aren't my thing, but rich red background is setting off the green and giving a stage for the white blossoms. This shot is warm and inviting and soothing to look at. (that's the first critique of a flower pic I've ever given!*

#2: good compo. besides the reflection on the paper I think it's decent work.

#3: very interesting picture. You have managed to turn a normally boring scene into something eye pleasing and artistic. The position of the couch, just below center is just right. The warm light behind the couch is the best part in my opinion. The couch is actually leaning left more than the curtain rod so it looks like the house is uneven. the perspective doesn't bother me.

#4: at first I didn't like this one, but is quite a good shot. The HDR is just right, the mask adds the bit of weird and out of place needed to spice up the shot. Maybe move the mask a little to the right? maybe not. No feedback to make this one better. Good result on a difficult shot.

Cheers,
-free

Thanks again!

And yes, here ain't too much to explore, or should I say here ain't factories and that kind of things, but these abandoned farm houses, few of them can be found even near. And I love 'em mood, and that how nature is taking it all back, slowly but anyway, it is beautiful and sad same time.

I don't know if I did get you right but that mask ain't add - it were there. Actually this is same house where were that teddybear with that 'bloody mouth', if anyone still remember.

And last: very much thanks from this comment (and all others too), especially good critic is very good thing (to learn).

Understood. I was suggesting to move it to the right, but I don't know if that would make any difference.

Do you move things around when you take photos? I have found myself moving and removing certain things to make a better shot. Before, I was thinking, shoot it like you find it, but now, if something ugly is in the way, I move it. Or I take something from one part of the place to another to shoot it in better light, etc...

I don't move things at all, I have odd obsession to catch real reality, let everything be (as it was). I think it is sometimes really stupid, because if moving would give you the better photos... It probably would be worth of it. There is that (stupid) point too, that if I ever get shit on my neck about photographing these abandoned places, I would be able to tell proudly that I have just take photos (like that would matter anything).

But I think this can be same level as using a Photoshop; few years ago I did say that I won't do NOTHING to my photos, they must be ready as they come from camera. Today I have little bit change my mind...
