| | | Thanks! I use handheld strobes & flashlights to create the lighting effects, walking around through the long exposure shots firing them off in the proper places.

I've been messing around with light painting too. It just doesn't look cool like yours does. This is my front yard experiment in October with flashlights and a laser pointer.
Yeah, I know......Keep practicing...

Zigzagging laser pointer. I think the idea may work but my execution is definitely lacking.

SilentSearch 0 I wish I could, but it seems that this is as large as PhotoShop will render them and still be under the 100K limit, and I admit I haven't really investigated other resolution or bit-depth possibilities. Not sure how other post their's so much larger...any tips?

Na, I wish I could advise you. Old dudes like me need the larger print (and pictures) so we can see. I do like Kooda's pictures

| | | I too like night photography, but I'm too impatient so I always turn up the ISO and get grainy pictures, so it's nice to see one's that are not P.S. Barry Kooda laser pointers are cool for pictures, though not so much for actually light painting. I'd post some of my own, but I am living out The Great UER Dream by being homeless and sleeping in abandonments and drains, so maybe later... Anyone ever see that episode of CHIPS where some kids set up a hangout complete with couches carpet and shelves in a drainage tunnel under a highway, a car crash happens and they are trapped. This post just reminded me of that, its been probably 20 years since I have seen an episode.

| | | I forgot to mention I got pulled over around this area last year. I was doing a little over 100mph when I got pulled over. the cop said he clocked me doing 70 in a 65. I thought that was kinda odd but kept quiet. he asked for the paper work ( this was a rental ) and once everything checked out he just let me go. Cool guy. After chatting for a sec I found out he pulled me over because the rental car had florida plates and thought I was on a drug run from LA to FL. apparently there is a drug trafficking problem. Funny thing was, about a month before we left MD for SF, I told my wife that if there was once state we got pulled over in, it would be Texas. You guys dont play down there!

I understand...I can hardly see to compose through the camera at night; it's usually a best guess situation for me! That said, all the pictures I posted in this thread and many more are accessible at my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nkerns/ Noel

Don't worry it's by choice; While I hate to make light of it, because I have a job still, it is for me at least fun and relaxing because I make/save a ton of money. It'll be hard to for me to ever pay rent again though =/
