well as you guys know, my photography is either hit or miss, and i don think this is my best work but hey i thought id post these up anyways.

i missed doing stuff in hdr so i decided to use it for this set. im not sure if it was needed or not (perhaps single exposure would have worked better) but i just wanted to use it today haha. im trying to make the most out of my camera before stepping up to a dslr so let me know how i did.

pics were taken with my sony dsc-t1 that was ghetto-rigged mounted to my tripod with double sided tape and rubber bands and i used photomatix for the hdr aspect of this set. then i touched stuff up in photoshop.

5. not sure about this one, i took it a while ago and it isnt from this set but ill throw it in here so i dont have to make another thread.

These are very tastefully done. My only critique would be that in 2 or so the lines are a bit crooked. (i'm kind of anal retentive about that.)

Great work.

GAH I KNOW!!! in number 4 too the lines are kinda messed up too. hhaha im pretty anal about this too and i almost didnt include those because i like straight lines too. trust me when i saw the pics, it drove me nuts because i liked the pictures but the little bit of crookedness kind of ruined it for me.

thanks for the good eye man

lol not really a critique but hey im not arguing with ya =]

i especially liked the bird theme of it haha

im about to take 4 down because as mentioned earlier, the lines are making me puke.

thanks for the compliments regarding the silo shot. i tried every feature on my camera to help that little hole not get blown out but i just couldnt do it. with my camera, i tried to use the exposure control, the metering type, but nothing worked so this is the best i could do. glad u liked it though =]

Maybe the house has a bad foundation?

maybe they purposely built the house crooked just to fuck with my head!!!

oh the conspiracies!

lol but seriously that could be it. like in #2 that line going down the middle really was a bit crooked.

i like them all, like previously stated sum r crooked, number 3 looks a lil grainy to me but that could just be my computer screen, and the cord in the bottom of the corner is distracting and draws my attention away. number one has great potential, to bad the wall paper isn't peeling, i could see that shot with the peeling paper, and done in black and white, and looking great! good job brown kid! ull have to take me here soon! and ill take u to the house i found today!

You're welcome. Regarding the other shots, I personally just don't like the content. I don't find door ways, doors and light switches to be particularly interesting to look at. I don't mean to be rude - that's just my opinion. You took the shots, you obviously like them and to each his own. For me the subject matter (except for the silo) breaks the pictures.

what kind of other things should i look for in a house though?

i agree with what youre saying because it seems that a lot of abandoned house pictures i take are sometimes a bit dry

...I have no idea, sorry I'm no help.

That's why I just don't shoot in houses, I think they're so boring. I will give it to you though, I'm sure your pictures make the place look even better than it really looks, I just prefer different types of locations.

That's the way HDR should be done. People think their photos are good just because they know how to make a computer program make their photo/photos "HDR".

bruss: i agree with the whole thing about houses being kind of dull. i think its true unless theres a lot of stuff left behind within the house itself. like this house was pretty stripped out so yeah it was a bit of a bore. i found some cool polaroids on a windowsill but those pics did not turn out to my liking

juice: thanks for the compliment. i too hate when people overdo the hdr aspect of an image so it looks like a rainbow took a poop all over their image. i kinda like the surreal look of hdr but teff that rainbow shit

lol anyone elseeeeeE?
