Holy shit. I couldn't even make sense of those at first. I like the first one better. The columns on the first shot really stretch out the shot and it captures the size of the space better than the second photo. I like the reflections on the first one better as well.
The framing on the second shot is lacking a little. I think the wall on the right hand side throws off the photo. The wall describes the space, but detracts from the picture on the whole.

Killer location though. Did you have legal access to this place? If not, damn, killer penetration.

I like the second one better, for the swirl pattern in the water.

The second swirls are really nice, but I like the long stretched out reflections of the lights in the water with the small ripples like someone dropped a pebble in the water right front center. Anyway, just personal opinion.

I'm wondering, can you bring up the midrange on these photos without burning out the highlights? I like the overall darkness because it captures what the place feels like, but if you increase the contrast between the pillars and the ceiling I think it might help.

Photo critique forum right? I'm trying to critique not just offer praise.

Second shot swirls are cool but the composition is lacking.

I think 2 is too horizontally shot, the angle in 1 is perfect.

However, the swirls in 2 really adds to the picture.

If you had the swirls from picture 2 and the angle of picture 1, that would produce an even greater photograph, if it is even possible to pick up such swirls at that angle.

Both shots are awesome IMO.

Very cool shots, and an amazing location.

A little cropping probably wouldn't hurt, the left side on the first and the right side on the second.

Just for fun, try playing with the color balance on these, you could surely get some cool effects just by giving it a slightly cool cast.

Those swirls in the second shot are killer!

Sick shots, that place looks awesome. I like the way the swirls on the floor of the second shot came out.

Hey All,

Thanks for the comments, I am glad you like the pictures.
The pictures are of Woolloomooloo Reservoir, It is listed on this sites UE DB.

Access is gained via a manhole, in the middle of a park in Sydney CBD. There is no legal access to this place, so its a bit of a mission to get in.

The water inside is deep and up to your chest and is cold, I used about 200 candles and spent about 4 hours setting and taking photos.

Mesmerising shots, but when will you sydney people learn - keep infrastructure access details under your hat. Loose lips got GP Reservoir locked up, hate to see ol' woolloommoooloomoomoooloo go the same way.

In future please keep access details and real names to PMs and emails. Helping people is okay, indiscreet plastering of access details in the public areas isn't.

Holy flaming crap these are cool! I love the patterns in the water and the candles add a great touch. The first one just seems completely surreal, the second one not so much (I think it's because the wall is more visible).

Both are great shots!
