It's already been mostly said, but I would not explore while drinking. You're already at the mercy of enough variables that affect your safety. They're just two separate pastimes.

In fact after a case of beer I know a guy who was still the fastest one up a 60 ft elevator shaft. So that disproves that theory too. But yes you still have to be careful and check your equipment. So you better know what you're doing and your limits with the booze. And above all be prepared to face the consequences.
