Fire damage?

I was out this morning and happened to run by this house that had caught fire. I've always been intrigued by fire damage. It's just another form of abandonment to explore. Anyone else feel the same?

Here are a few pictures I took. Unfortunately I only had my cruddy old Kodak with me that died after about 10 shots...

It is another form brought on by a tragic situation I tend to avoid. I don't explore homes when this happens because for some reason it makes me feel like I am going a bit too far. Something that I can't explain but it does not make it wrong for someone else, just not for me.

A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind.

I agree with shelly1. I feel like im trampling over someone elses misfortunes. I would feel really bad if the owners saw me taking photos of the destroyed home and possessions. A+ for effort though!. I'm like you, I have a camera with me at all times.

Yeah, fires can be very tragic... I've known a few people who had lost everything due to a house fire. But I just don't know, something about them is very intriguing to me.

And to u25680, I have no idea how recent the fire was. I really never go down the road the house was on.

I think you'd feel really bad when you find the owners while taking pictures!

I don't know.. fire damage seems like the ultimate rape of a location.

dsankt: BNT rocks shiny penny loafers. I heard he explores in them cos it puts a spring in his step for the laddies.
Contagion: I still think BrandNewTeeth is a prick, no matter what. Bitch ate all of my thanksgiving leftovers!

Pic #4: was that an exploding sheep driving the car!? :-o

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

I myself am a volunteer firefighter and fire really is a beautiful thing, it can create life and take it away, it's so amazing. I have never really photo'd a building after it was on fire (mostly because we've only had two structure fires in the past few years and they were both intentionally set by us as training and we just burnt em to the ground.) But I would love the opportunity to sometime.

I have a few photos from a controlled burn we did here: http://jdipstock.deviantart.com/
