| | | I have run into others as well, but when it has happened to me, both parties will walk up to each other, have a staring contest while one of the others ties our wrists together and then we both get out our switchblades and have a knife fight while we are tied together.....very much like the Michael Jackson video Beat it from the 1980's heres a link to the original video on youtube http://www.youtube...atch?v=7wAJ7w9G8-Q ..at 3.00 minutes into the stream, you will see how I roll.

| | | I saw some other UEers a few weeks ago but they were damn anti-social. Me and my friend waved and began to walk over but before we could close the 30 yards they all made a B-line into a tunnel to avoid us. Later we came in the back of a lobby the same time they came in the front by pure chance. I gave they a warm "Yo, whats up?" and all they did was a 180 without so much as a glance and walked to the next building over. Strange people man. To anti-social and shady for my tastes.

| | | I had a dream I did once. No really. I was working a 14 hour shift at the ambulance and fell asleep and dreamt I was in Cleveland exploring and ran into some UER chick named bekki or something like that. It was a weird dream. Then I got the call for the MVA, so that dream was promptly ended

| | | Back around mid August, I ran into a couple of cool guys in the Rochester subway. Turns out we were both there for a quick "smoke" break. It was a bit tricky getting down there. I had recently torn my acl, but needed my UE fix. They seemed like really nice guys. We chatted for a few minutes, and parted ways. That was the first time I ever ran into any explorers.

I found a group of five not too long ago took out two before they noticed zipstripped them and gagged them then the others noticed they were missing a couple people. They all turned out to be nice people I apologized to them and now they seem to call mee tto ask if I can sweep areas for them quite often. made my reputation go on the rise now most uers inmy area call me for the jab and I make a little bit of money off of it here and there. but over all it was all for the fun.

| | | A friend and I heard some kids coming in the drain outfall as we were walking down to exit. We hid with our lights off and then turned on two one million candle power garritys when they got closer and they ran out of there pretty quickly. They were waiting for us when we emerged from the drain. I just said hi and bye. [last edit 1/18/2008 3:15 AM by Umbra - edited 1 times]

| | | Just yesterday a friend and I took a lunch-time break from work to test some lighting ideas in a well-known old brick drain. Fifteen sweat-sodden minutes later, we caught some torchlight coming down the tunnel. My first thought was that one of the locals had seen through our hard-hat disguises, but it turned out to be a couple of drain regulars we'd met through another forum. There were four of them - the guy at the front was friendly, but the other three seemed reluctant to speak or make eye contact. Two of them were chugging beers as they made their way along. We left them to continue their tour, and headed back to our respective workplaces. NB: For the locals, this was Burford's.

| | | Today, I was just about to enter the grounds of an abandonment when a car started approaching me. The area around me was quite desolate, so I knew the abandonment was the car's destination. Instead of continuing onto the property, I approached the car in an attempt to appear innocent and harmless. I was certain the car contained the property owner, or someone who would not have enjoyed my presence. The driver, a man of thirty-or-so years, rolled down his window and immediately asked, "So, you're taking pictures too?" I was carrying my tripod and camera. I answered in the affirmative, and he then explained how he was preparing the introduction to a movie of his. Apparently, he obtained permission from the city's Mayor to be on the premises and was willing to vouch for me if the police took attention. Nice guy.

| | | Ran into a duo from tennessee I believe it was in a north jersey state hospital once. We were on opposite sides of a wing and spotted each other in the hall, after about a minute of dead silence I finally just started walking toward them and said hi, ended up being really nice, but couldn't find the exit so we showed them out. We though they were cops earlier in the day, and apparently they had hid from us at some point as well hahah. Never got their names/found out if they were on here though, it was about a year ago.

| | | I haven't met anyone 'cept for "taggers" at an abandoned bridge nearby. They couldn't have been any older than 10 or 11. They were annoying as hell so my friend turned around and said, "Shit, COP!" and ducked. The kids ran like hell. End of problem.

| | | I came close I believe, I was in the local flour mill, and me and knoppy44 were walking into the main stairwell, and we all of a sudden heard all these footsteps and bashing and shit, like someone was about 5 floors below us trying to get the fuck out of there.could have been a vandal, I don't know. But I know it WAS a person. Around here, there is a saying. "If you're in the flour mill, someone else is too."

| | | I accidentally scarred some highs school kids (I think) at Glendale in Maryland. We were almost up to the building getting ready to make a run from the tree line to the entrance when all of a sudden we heard a blood-curdling scream and saw a flashlight running by the windows on the top floor. That scared the absolute shit out of us. We waited for a while in the bushed and decided to go for it and do our best to avoid the other people. I was just inside the entrance when a large group of kids walked by in the main hallway and they never saw me. I let them get up a ways and then I slowly walked after them in the hallway in the dark. Everything was going smooth until I stepped on a piece of glass. When they heard the glass break they freaked, one dropped a nice expensive Stern light and they all ran down a dead end hallway and hid in a room. I slowly crept my way down the hallway till I got to the only closed door. I could here a girl hyperventilating and saying, “Oh my god, oh my god” and a guy whispering “shut up, shut up”. I really wanted to kick the door in and scare them to death but I was worried about getting trampled to death by a bunch of kids so I silently walked back to my group and we headed down to the tunnels.
It was in September, we saw their silhouettes fade away, outlined on the horizon against the rays of the setting sun. |

| | | never actually ran into anyone while at a site, however at our most recent site, the first time we went in we passed this bum sitting in a gutter on our way to hop the fence. when we got in we heard some pipes clanging on the other end of the building so we just booked it out of there. we talked to the bum on our way back and we asked him if a lot of people go in to the building, and he said "you guys were just in there? thats not a good idea, its my job to keep people out!" then he pulled out a cell phone and started walking towards the building. we were like wtf, came back 2 weeks later and explored it for 5 hours.
