Did you happen to find any "ABC Certified Bowling Lanes" decals anywhere?

(ABC = American Bowling Congress)

This is an awesome photo.. I've gotta hit this place up sometime soon.

Thanks! I'm very excited to be getting back into photography again. I'm now seriously getting the bug to go on shoots all the time.

I didn't see any ABC decals. I'll look next time I'm there. I need to go back and redo my full lane shots because they didn't turn out at all. I've got ideas, but turning them into quality photographs takes a lot of time.

Right on! You made it into the bowling alley! I've got to head out there and check it out soon. Any idea if the movie theater is accessable?

Back in the day, I used to go to "Rock and Bowl" every once in a while when there wasn't anything else to do. When the "special" pin came up, you had to bowl a strike to win a lame prize....or something, can't remember what the reward was.

I looked all over for a bowling ball, but couldn't find one. The lanes were pristine and there were loads of pins. Damn.

This time, I looked for you. I found them on the pins.

No post processing done on these photos besides JPEG conversion for web display.

Group lighting effort here. I think 5 different flashlights were used on this shot. I set this shot up using things found at the site. Lane cleaning/lubrication machine on the right.

Seany on the flash. Subtle, but I really like this photo. I think you can see the ubiquitous porno pages on the floor there in front of the ball return.

Orange Destruction -- This one was from the first trip. I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me. Hoverfly on the flash.

It's the hole in the middle of this building: http://maps.google...19&iwloc=addr&om=1

The bottom of the shaft is the roof of the first floor. I still have to see this anti aircraft gun...

My final photos, and the best yet, IMHO.

This damn bowling alley started to feel like my personal photography studio, I've spent so much time in there lately! Hey, practice makes perfect right?

Nice stuff man! Why didn't you get in on the urban landscapes juried show in Marin? The gallery director was so disappointed not to see some of your work on the walls.

Just curious if anyone else entered anything into the juried show.

My friend and I entered 3 pieces each (maximum allowed). He had all three selected and they selected two of mine. I've had my work in galleries before, but this is the first time I hung or sold UE-type pieces, so it's pretty exciting.

The show starts today and runs 'til the end of the month, and the reception is Sat, Oct 13, 5-8 PM. If you make it down during the reception, be sure to stop by and say "hi".

Thanks bro. Ugh. I didn't have many good shots when you first posted that notice. I've since taken many more, but I had just gotten my camera at that point. I emailed the lady but failed to link or send a photo. I'll leave this one for the Pros like Hoverfly. Thanks for posting on this, super cool that some of us are having their photos displayed and purchased because of it.

And it was good to hang with you in Memphis. Too bad I didn't have longer. For those of you who don't know, Memphis is like a UE wonderland. Abandoned buildings everywhere! I do really want to go back...

Congrats to Hoverfly and the others who have work showing. Hoverfly, are your friend's photos the crazy light things or the smaller, graffiti/bus/self-portrait shots? I know at least one other person entered from the site, but I also posted in the main photography forum in addition to in this thread, so it could be anyone capable of hand-delivering his/her art to San Rafael.

Anyhow, congrats to you all. When my neighbor told me about the show, I immediately thought "This should be publicized on UER," but I did not know if anyone would do it. The gallery director was quite pleased with the work submitted by members and expects most of it to sell (way to go!)

I look forward to meeting some of you guys at the reception. Hopefully Ashley will remember whose art is whose so I won't have to go around asking everyone who did each piece.

I guess I'll just flood this thread with my photos since no one else is posting.

Shouts out to Lost America and Hoverfly.

Lost America provided guidance, direction and humor throughout the night.

Me shooting Troy, shooting Scott shooting a wicked shadow shot.

Inspired purely from Troy's earlier photo. I'm totally biting here, but pulling it off.

This one is purely my creation.

Storage room behind the lanes. Streetlight filters in through the ventilation fan high on the wall. I also lit this with a 592nm yellow LED and a Xenon flashlight from inside and outside the room.

I have to give credit to Troy for this idea as well.

Lane cleaning machine. I used my new LEDs a lot. Still experimenting.
