quite a find

well i drove by this place a few weeks ago and me and my buddy finally got a chance to check it out. too bad there was a police station right next to it. honestly it was about 50ft away. so we deceided to give up because it wasnt worth getting caught over. there wasnt anyone at the police station either. well so me and my friend drive around and i tell him "hey lets just swing by there again and see if anyones there." so we drive by and theres a cop right there in the police station. we then politely asked him if we could take pics there and he said "sure, go right ahead." heres what we found.

pics taken with a sony dsc t1. im an idiot and took really big pics so quality suffered when i resized them. im still a noob so dont be too harsh on me! (",)

yeah i know what you mean but the place was pretty small. like the rooms were so tiny that it was hard to even get everything in the viewfinder. i literally was pressed up against the wall for a lot of these.

the kitchen was pretty bland, just a lot of trash, the bathroom was the same, and upstairs wasn't much, just a lot of burnt out timbers. it was even more cramped up there.

what do you think about the pictures i did take though?

Just find a halfway decent program to resize the pics. It's far better to take digital photographs in the best possible resolution, than to take the bare minimum for a small pic on the web. You can always make something smaller and have it come out nice, but if you start out small, you can't go very far.

yeah it is true that its easier to work with a higer res pic. i use some Microsoft photo editor to resize them even though i do all my editing and stuff in photoshop. lol, dont ask why but i think its time i start to use photoshop or another better program to resize pics.

thanks for the tip.

haha no, there wernt any "no trespassing" signs or anything but we saw the police station a stones throw away from this place and figured breaking and entering wouldnt look too good on our records.

thanks for the comments on the pics. its much appreciated.

ive met a few cops before (no im not a felon or anything) but this was definately one of the nicest cops ive met. truly a cool guy.

although when me and my friend approached the squad car he was in, he looked a little alarmed =]

#5 is my favourite due to the build-up of debris on the stairway. How I love the patterns in paint when it peels!

For some reason I love the 1st picture in the set maybe its just the way the debris is laying around

Surrounded by empty mines and trains that just don't run.

Oh, my God. Holy shit. Fuck! I grew up with that lampshade. I love this kitchen. I fucking love this kitchen!

#2 and #5 are my favorites.

They all look nice, I just found 2 and 5 to be the best of the bunch.

They evoked a feeling when I looked at them.
When I scroll through these threads I look for pictures that jump out at me.

Mainly bc the composition is nice, lighting is good, and subjects are interesting.

I tend to like a little more contrast in my photos, but I found these worked very nicely.

Help?
