The amount of time it takes to get full membership really varies depending on how much you contribute, who you get to know, and stuff like that.

As for the thread locking, that's been a complaint of mine for a while to. A lot of mods lock threads that should definitely keep going. I highly doubt that's ever going to change though.

Lock this.

Regimental,

I'm new too.

I'm not as concerned about full membership as I am about learning about this activity from those who've done it for long. There are some nicknames I recognized from reading National photo mags--so the experience level here is very high. Why it's sensitive? I guess for the mods it must be a real fine line keeping straight an activity that necessarily involves crooked paths.

Hi (again).

It can take up to two months for us to review your full membership application. From there, we can either accept or deny it. In case it is denied, we suggest waiting a month before reapplying.

Thread locking:

If you post only a picture and a link to your website, without any content, or if your post looks like an ad, it will be locked and/or deleted. We are not "sensitive", we just try to keep the forum clean.

Also, if people starts to troll or send the thread into off-topic'ness, it will be locked and/or deleted

Hint: We don't lock/delete good threads.

Just don't post pictures of your friends having a good time while exploring, or they will be deleted from your post.

those seem like neat locations.
Normally though, you may want to toss your shots into one of the two photography oriented boards.

It seemed like a good idea at the time...

Unless the point of the pictures is just to document in which they go better in the region forums.
