| | | Okay, since there have been a lot of threads about gear floating around this forum recently, I decided to help you green explorers out by posting a this-is-what-I-use gear thread - with pictures. Because threads with pictures are always better.

| | | Hell yeah, SOCKS. nothing sucks worse than soggy feet. I've always said I'll know I've hit the big time when I can afford to buy 365 pairs of socks and underwear. As for #9, is that like a pocket knife? I've never heard the term gerber before.

a "gerber" is a brand of multitool. i personally have a leatherman that i'm quite fond of. it's just good to have a screwdriver, knife, etc without carrying a toolbelt.

True. In this case, though, that gerber is an older 4" knife (legal to carry in Colorado). As far as a multitool, i always have a Swiss Army Knife on me.

| | | I always have a small Victorienox on my keychain. It's way to small to ever be considered a burglary tool or weapon, but I can get some screws out of the way if I need to. Small enough you never leave it and wish you had it. Less is more like that sometimes.
It seemed like a good idea at the time... |

I've got a spartan too. It's nice and affordable, but still useful.

| | | In my opinion you need three min things to go exploring. A knife(multi tool is fine) A flashlight A cell phone (so the person who knows your out exploring can call you or you can call out) Beyond that friend gloves etc are great. Camera's are really optional in my opinion although most people like to show off the sites they have been to and some people are really good at photography, its not required. Dare I say UER has made the camera vital due to most people revolving this hobby around cameras. Although many people who sign up and leave rather quickly are in it for the thrill of exploring, or infiltrating and less in the arts. At least thats what I see in other forums. We can debate min equipment till we go blue in the face, but above is all you really need, everything else is either dead weight, useful tools, or fun things to have.

| | | I carry a torch, tripod and camera. For social engineering I may employ a hardhat and safety vest. I could care less about soggy feet, sewage on my pants or anything else that may make the exploration "un-pleasant".

Do you wear it every time you UE or only when it seems important, and when it seems important what are the conditions like?

| | | If you're using a respirator it's important to note the proper storage procedure for your mask. I own the particular model shown in the first post of this thread, and I'm pretty sure it goes for all models. When you're not using it, unscrew the filters and put them in separate ziplock bags. Make sure the bags are sealed properly because even if you aren't wearing them, the filter cartridges will filter air constantly until they expire. Just a tip to make sure that you arent wearing a sweaty uncomfortable mask for hours for nothing. Dages
