| | | I wear rubber boots if I anticipate a few inches of water... and combat boots if I anticipate over 1 foot. It sounds like it should be the other way around, but you don't want water getting into your rubber boots because that's a pain, and you might loose them in water/mud that deep. I use some Wellco combat boots. I like how they support the ankle. They're good for walking long distances. They drain water well, so you might be wet but you won't slosh real bad. You can put your pants over the boots, that way they don't look like anything out of the ordinary. I normally have both pairs of boots in the car.

| | | hmm, my good old nike shoes, or when I'm on bicycle: my shimano hard sole shoes. Some will argue that they worth nothing for running, jumping and being stealth, but I don't really care/ need to jump from 6' at most UE location.

| | | Ok well I just got some interesting boots. There called GSG-9's yes there from addida's and there big bucks. However you can climb a fence in nothing flat. Its got good grip in sand which is I hate overhere. Great traction on metal and smooth stone. However like I said a pretty penny. Also combat boots are great and mocasins are good just ask the guys from Tom Brown Jr's school.

You bastard! I've been dying for a pair of those, but unfortunately there are other things that are a bit higher up on the list of stuff to get. How comfortable are they? Heavy? Can you run in them without getting tired out too quick? Did you buy them online or in a store?

| | | Drat, I finally found a store that sold Tabis, and they only have knee high ones. I really wanted some ankle high ones. Oh yeah, and a question for the tabi wearers, what kinda socks do you where with your tabis?? -The Lost Flock

Tabi socks... If you wear non split toed socks in tabi boots it's pretty uncomfortable, at least I think so. Toe socks would also work. Virtually any place that sells the boots will also sell the socks. I even made my own warmer pair from a pair if thermal socks myself...

I used to just wear normal socks. All you gotta do is put the sock on so it's not quite tight around the toes, then pull the slack up between your big and second toes. It's not uncomfortable if you do it right.

Krazy, that's what I did when I was trying some of the knee high tabis on, and it was allright. But I'm still on the look out for some ankle-high ones. I don't really like knee highs... -The Lost Flock

| | | Oh sure, make fun of me while i'm nowhere near a computer... No, thats not me... my legs aren't that good, and the only toe socks i've worn were pixies when I couldn't find my tabi socks... and the toe socks were multi-colored ! so there... Actually, my homemade thermal tabi are so silly... one is red and one is green.

| | | Pffttt. They were blue, Krazy. Different shades of blue. Krazy..uhmmmm, do you have some sort of sock fetish there dude ? Seriously though, wearing tabi takes a little getting used to. Having your big toe away from the other toes felt weird at first.

| | | hey, it would be better than some kind of sick, twisted tabi fetish. I'm just an advocate of google's image search. That and you're fair game once you start bragging about borrowing Pixie's socks.

| | | Also for the big spender check out the okley website for the latest in special forces footware. Quiet comfortable can wear them for long periods of time. Much like the GSG9 except they got a differnet sole.
