Overall, I think most people here know each other well enough to know what their posts will be like, and have an open enough mind to read them all.
For the record, I voted to keep a ratings system but modify it completely. And yes, it has been quiet here lately...

Here's a thought: How about making the stars mean the same thing for everyone. It's a lot less confusing to just put "site admin" "or "moderator" beneath those people's names than to automatically give them a ton of stars.
