He even said this was for a personal school thing, and not mainstream media.

Just because he says it, doesn't mean it's true. If anyone does do it, get things in writing about what can be used and for what purposes very specifically.

It requires wisdom to understand wisdom: the music is nothing if the audience is deaf.

He also stated we could sign something saying its only for a school film.

Geez, do you read, or just skim the first few sentances?

OK, NOW I'm going to bed.

Yes Shokan, I am aware of that. But as anyone that has had a bad media experience will say they have learned, you need to be the one in control as much as possible. He can say what he will do, but more importantly, if you're offering to do the interview, you tell him what he can do, take it or leave it. If he wants the story and didn't have plans of screwing you over, he'll agree.

Others have gotten screwed, so best to be extra vigilant against it happening to anyone else, no ?

Say,

Your not the famous Gin Harbold, Shaolin Ninja asskicker from Evergreen State College, are you?

On the topic of debates and documentries, Does anyone think that a journalist can truly cover a story without becoming part of that story? Can you understand UE without becoming part of it?

Perspective is everything, and the "outside looking in view" can be skewed. Remember when Chunk and the Goonies saw the Tortelli family through the window?

I say with a little development, that Gin's project would be interesting for someone to do. I maintain that there is a difference between underground media and mass corporate media. If Gin want's an A for his doc and not cash then he is a righteous dude.

Course he could be part of the global anti-UE conspiracy...

It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so, and will follow it by suppressing opposition, subverting all education to seize early the minds of the young, and by killing, locking up, or driving underground all heretics. Gin Harbold may have a nice name, but he doesn't seem to be very attentive. UI? Who ever called this hobby UI? UI is unemployment insurance, the collection of which is a totally separate hobby.

You could collect UI to finance UE as long as you kept it on the QT.

collecting UI while doing UE would be the best job ever... hmm, the government gives out all sorts of grants for weird things, maybe we should apply for a grant for a study on the number and conditions of abandoned buildings across Canada...
