| | | | | Good Deal on LED Flashlight @ Target < on 12/3/2005 11:18 PM >
| | | Went to Target today to see if they have those Maglite LED replacements and sadly this store did not. But I went by this dispaly of "easy gifts" or something and in one box, they had a 3-LED Aluminium Flashlight that runs on 2 C cells and a water bottle for $10.00 USD. I bought it and the flashlight is pretty solid. Its pretty bright.

| | | I wouldn't bother with drop ins using regular led's. Go for 1-5 watt led's. There are quite a few companies that sell these. Also, if you can get ahold of one, the Princeton tec MAtrix 2 headlamp can be butchered and the whole piece set into a 2 cell light. (they were on closeout sale for $15 recently)

| | | I know MEC sells the 3 Led adapter for AA maglites for about $8 Cdn, but that was the only size the had. http://www.mec.ca/...mUID=1133829405329

| | | yea, how about a 5 Watt luxeon LED flashlight, that is smaller then a mini-maglite, but as powerful as a 6 D Maglite... for $50 including carrying case.

| | | Nope, it's definitely an H2O powered light. Unfortunately you've got to use distilled water

| | | Yeah the 3 LED conversion for the mini-mag is a moderate disappointment. For the most part, it acts as a semi-bright flood light. With the upgrade you can no longer focus the beam, and the insert takes up more room so you can't screw the end of the light on as far.

I had not even considered that, surely it must run from water? Chris...

I doubt that it would run off water considering the whole hydrogen electricity thing is inefficient (takes more electricity to make the hydrogen than it gives you). I have been seeing more and more of these inexpensive 'shake for 30 seconds' or 'wind up for 1 minute' LED flashlights which are pretty good ideas for renewable energy.

| | | Nope, H2O powered. Read closer. There are tiny bacteria that eat the water molecules and shit 3 volt electricity. Man, get with the times!

If these supposed bacteria make electricity then why would the flash light have 2 C cells? And I'm sure this ground breaking technology if it existed wouldn't cost a mere 10 dollars.
