Just in order to prevent the 'Malt Plant Construction' entry, which is one of the most commented (with about 250 posts) and read entries on this forum, to disappear from the Quebec ue section's main page; it would be nice if someone would post something on the Malt Plant.

For my part, I can say that on my latest exploration there, which was about a month ago, when I introduced a friend to urban exploration, we met a filming crew from the Galafilm production house, while they were filming for the second season of Webdreams, a reality-tv type of show featuring stars-in-the-making, as well as programmers and other content producers from the burgeoning internet porn industry in Montreal. At that moment they happened to be documenting a photo shoot, which was taken place in the Plant's inner court.

Unfortunately, we also got to notice their expulsion from the site by a mildly angry and quite surprised landowner. Though, after talking to them we learn that they had obtained the man's phone number and that he had agreed for them to come back on another day to complete the shoot, but necessarily in exchange of an undisclosed sum of money.

I did not go to the Plant since then, but it may have explained the tightened up in security.

I'm overly surprised that a multimillionnaire would stop by one of his numerous property personally, even more so for an abandoned property... I'm not even sure the "owner" lives in Montreal. I doubt it very much.

Doesn't make any sense.

This building is so wasted and decayed. Soon I am sure it's simply gonna fall apart.

Well, Maze and Nostra, it may not have been the land owner himself, but probably someone to whom he gave the responsibility for the location.

It is true that he didn't look like a multimillionaire or a company representative either, but we definitely witnessed the filming crew's expulsion. And this was confirmed by the fact that the man had presented himself to the crew as the person in charge for the Plant.

The owner, as far as I know is Mr. Kwan. I met him 3 week ago on the malt plant site as he was supervising some work over there to board up the place around the bucket elevator.

Pour fins d'archives.

That is a shame! I recently discovered a reclamation project in Germany that blows my mind. Of course the Malt Plant does not have tons of land around it, but if I could influence it s future you can bet I have plenty of ideas!
