Its a piece of metal (rebar would be good for it) shaped like the picture below and inserted in to the fence and used as a ladder on each side. They can snap the wire if your not careful. a better trick is to make ones that go over the pipe on the top, and under the wire. It gives you a extra handhold and helps more. The black line is the thing we designed from wood. Two by fours and some bolts. Unfortunately it was weal. Some rebar would work fine, but a the time I didnt have access. Get the idea. It could be hard to set in if you make the stabilizer to large. I also had one more idea I never ever did make and wish I had. I may have a welder build a few soon. Know those pesky damn twisted tops that catch clothes and rip pants. Well my friends here is my solution. A little cover to keep your pants from ripping. It will make for faster insert and exit. My boots make fences a bit harder, but the first design works ok and is available in US Cavalry, and not exactly cheap. The time it takes you to install them is more that what it takes you to hop the fence with practice. It does help if carrying a big load, or you could throw it over to your buddy, or pull the fence back and throw it under. If barb wire isn't your thing, a good cheap rug will do the trick also. Not on barbed wire because that will go through things. Junkyard your right they arent hard to climb over. However the thing I showed just makes it ten times easier for the novice. Go figure. When I want to quietly go over a fence like that, it's so easy to walk up one side, put one foot over to get started on that side, then walk back down without rattling the fence very much at all... If it's fast you want, Tabi will also make it child's play, since you can't put your foot against the fence without getting the toes into the links... even horrible climbers look good climbing with them on...
