| | | | What backpacks do you use? Looking to buy a new one. < on 7/29/2013 1:07 AM >
| | | Well after a biking accident at the Florida Door early this year, I need a new pack. I had been using an old school one from years ago, not really the best one to use. I had found this pack, and seems simple and rugged. Anyone else use it? and if not what do you use? Links would be nice. RAPDOM Lethal 24 http://www.amazon....s=RAPDOM+Lethal+24

| | | As you can see I've got a few bags (that's not even all of the current ones) but for UE I've had the best luck with a few in particular: for cranes: Black Diamond BOA (very slim with good clearance for caged ladders) for draining: Burton zoom (lots of external pockets & compartments for lights) for light painting: LowePro should bag everything else: Crumpler Whickey & Cox

| | | I am kinda of a tactical tailor fan just due to durability of the products and lifetime warranty. I run with and "removeable operator pack" and no it's not because its "tacticool." The bag is well built you can get it in bland colors (not camo unless you are into that), and the inside is bright orange so its reversable for signaling, and its far easier to see things in low light wit that orange interior. The water bladder area is done right. http://www.tactica...eoperatorpack.aspx Honestly you can find these bags in non camo colors for 70ish bucks, and they are just done right, but its really a matter of task and taste with bags.

| | | AmazonBasics SLR camera bag...near identical to the Canon bag. http://www.amazon....amazon+camera+case I sometimes takes camera gear out and put other gear in, and then shove everything else in my pockets.
I've beat the crud out of it and it's REALLY holding up well. Had it over a year. It usually comes along on most explorations, gets thrown around in the truck, etc. In FL with everything spread out, we don't hike to a lot of sites, you just drive up to them with all your gear and go back to your vehicle to swap gear, etc. So, we don't really have much need for packing a lot of gear in backpacks. I hear ya... I figured that out many years ago when my girlfriend and I took a weekend ride. she filled up both saddle bags and the backrest bag with "girl stuff". I had only my pockets and handlebar bag for my shit. dropped the saddle bags and her soon after that trip. now, if it wont fit in the pockets, I dont need it.

| | | It's tough enough juggling a six-pack cooler, an open beer and a Canon Powershot without having a backpack of useless shit grinding me down.

| | | I picked up a Lowepro hatchback 22L http://store.lowep...o-hatchback-22l-aw So far I like it, in just the camera compartment I can comfortably fit my d5100, 35 f/1.8, 50 f/1.8, 18-105, and a 55-300... No room for my tripod though.

| | | Im not gonna rate 5.11 gear but, 5.11 rucks have been lack luster at times. Granted I like quality, but here is my issue most good companies double, or even tripple stitch. 5.11 bags look like single stitch to me, run some weight in a bag and watch it rip apart one time. Also for the price of 5.11 I think it should be built a bit better then it seems to be. Maybe they have up the quality in the last 2 years, but I highly doubt it. Also just because cops/military use doesn't mean they are great. It just means a deal, or they specifically make stuff for said individuals.
