| | | in general cotton fabrics are the preferred option. but as many of us know, the selection of our clothing is seriously dependent on the weather, ambient lighting, our route to the site, and our destination...among other things. you'll be hard pressed to find the "silent" clothes cheap enough to make owning them worthwhile. the military attempted this with goretex. it was touted as being waterproof yet breathable. but the byproduct was that in comparison to other rain apparel, it was much quieter. what interests me about this thread...is that if you're in such close quarters with people that the sounds of your clothes is such that you wish to diminish it, then precisely how close are you to someone/thing that can hear you??? predominantly...clothes will not get you heard if you're out of someone's hearing range. and you as a WHOLE individual UE-ing are only as quiet as the environment you're in. for example, the clothes you wear could be 100% astroglide, but if you're stomping around on broken glass...go home. and in keeping with my own values...get as close as you can without being heard, and once you must announce your presence do so with a loud and thunderous roar. at this point you could be wearing pots and pans...you've got surprise.
I didn't make the world you live in, I make the world you live in...SCARIER. |
