| | | I recently switched from shooting digital to medium format. These are from my first couple of rolls. Shot on a Bronica Sq-ai with Ekatr 100 or Portra 400. This is my first post in critiques so have at it.

| | | Wow I kinda fucking love all the them. Awesome. For me 1,3,4,5,6 (and 9) are the strongest. They're all great, looks like you were dealing with some harsh light which is difficult. Love your composition though! Cute ladies too!

| | | Awesome camera!! Biggest thing is to get rid of the dust. Blow off your negs and scanner often. Then brush out the rest in PS. 6, 7, and 8 are a little to contrasty. This is a trait of Ektar though. The colors got a little strange in 7. Yay film!

That's the reply I was looking for. I had these scanned & put onto disc at the local photo spot. I've since obtained a scanner so hopefully I can fix the dust issue. I've noticed Ektar being high in contrast. What do you think made the colors go wonky in 7? I need some pointers on getting the exposures spot on. Thanks, dude.

Maybe it could have been the warmer sunlight reflecting off the red brick on the exterior, where the blues were the interior light bouncing around the cooler greys in there.

I forget, what were you metering with again? 2 and 8 both have a higher contrast going on, and shooting towards dark objects or walls with brighter light around the edge sometimes leads to over exposure. Sometimes I'll shoot one at metered, and one at what I think the adjusted exposure would be.

I have a Sekonic & was also using a light meter app. I would tend to over expose with my digi shots too because I like bright photos but I'm looking to get to nice, even shots with film. I need some practice up in this bitch.

| | | All films react differently to light. They can be more or less sensitive to a specific color making the image look different than reality. This is part of the "film" look. #7 just got a little to extreme for me. Also remember all film is rated at a higher speed than it actually is. So over exposing a half stop for that works. Also any exposure over one second needs even more time. So just drag it out another half stop. ..... Generally speaking.

quite helpful. Thanks. Maybe we can head out in a couple of weeks and you can help me out. I have an ulterior motive though that has to do with a burgeritto.

| | | I love film more than Digital. So much more you can do off the lens. I would reduce the light by going with a faster shutter speed, that would also help with the color. Also using filters can do a lot, try a pastel 1 or even a a1 sky filter. I carry a small cleaning cloth in its own container, that is attached to my back pack, it is good for when you find dust on your lens. I love these!
