Hello UER! I am curious if anyone has any good ways to find locations on google maps. I am a basic member so I cannot view the whole database map to find locations. So I was just curious if anyone has any good ways of finding places to explore off of google maps. I am in phoenix AZ so I know there's got to be many places to explore but am very new at finding these locations. I've visited a few empty buildings in my area that are abandoned but do not wanna break into them and be a vandal. Anyone also have good ways on finding ways into abandoned places! Thanks everyone!

AZ has literally 10's of thousands of abandoned mines. And ghost towns! I'd be in heaven in the SW. I'd be exploring mines every weekend if I didn't live 1800 miles away. Beyond mines, following railroads and waterways often turns up some gems. Take long meandering roadtrips on County and back roads. There are some good websites that map and document long abandoned and dismantled rail lines. There are also sites that map abandoned bridges and tunnels. Local historical societies often have online records. City, County, and State owned abandoned properties for sale are online. County brownfield reports are online. GIS data is online. Facebook. Instagram. Reddit. YouTube. Google spills secrets like a drunken whore, and will link all the aforementioned. Google Google Google. Then Google some more. Also, Google.

Thanks for the input! I used that thread to find my first 3 locations. I found 3 mansions that are in super good condition that no one knows about. I spent the whole day exploring these locations and took lots of pictures. I wanna post them to the map but I am a basic member and don't want vandals going and destroying them. I will wait until I am a full member to post them as they are very historic houses from what I read and would rather not have them end up demolished. Excited that I found this site and cant wait to contribute!!
