Since it's been four months with apparently nobody ever finding a pool of anything except water, I'm going to fudge the definition a bit with a "pool of plantlife":

It's a gun emplacement rather than a pool, but hey, whatever gets the thread going again.

Obviously, a flying plane is not abandoned, but this is a cool shot I took on the beach in the Outer Banks, NC. Hope this counts!
