A slow heap of junk, but indeed a cool looking car. Would love to shoe horn a small block in one, but the frame (or lack thereof) would likely turn into a pretzel twist. My brother had s blue one when I was a teenager. Was a $75 beater. It needed a clutch, but was not worth the effort seeing as the clutch kit cost more than the car. He speed shifted it for 8mo, jamming into 1st and turning it off at red lights still in gear. Got some epic stares as the starter motor carried it half way through the intersections before the engine finally fired. Its final demise was a wheel bearing separation on the freeway. While still in a wtf moment from the drop of the ass end and the shower of sparks, the rear left wheel passed us in the center lane. He abandoned it on the side of the freeway. When the Sheriff's Dept. called with where he could pick it up and the towing/storage charges, he told them to keep it....

I think this is a 1963 AMC Rambler Classic. Looks like it was near mint when it was parked, and certainly before the roof collapsed on it. Research into public records lead me to believe this property has been abandoned since 1987.

Tbh it still looks really good even with the roof on it.

True story. Unfortunately, since it is sitting on grass, the frame underneath is probably about to rust in half....

This is kind of a cool one- this poor little '68 Bug has been shared with me about a hundred times on Facebook from car friends and UE friends alike- I was on my way to northern-ish Ontario with a classic car rally and finally got to see it in person! It was kinda of like meeting that person you've been talking to for ten years online. Not much left of it, it did have intact pop-out rear windows which are sorta of rare, though.
...and a bonus Volkswagen "ALH" TDI engine ('98-'03) in the ditch without its timing belt. That's just about the only thing that kills these engines.

GMC or Chevy actually. Back in February I found the most amazing junkyard in a tiny town in Indiana. Among the many derelict vehicles there was this rare VW Dasher. VW Dasher by Harvestman Man, on Flickr
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

there is a reason those Dashers are rare... and that trout guy gets a pic of jeep and a f-series, but misses the Camaro behind it. (grumble grumble)

Camaro or Vega? That hood looks kinda short. Could be lens distortion, I suppose....

It was a Camaro. I got a picture but it wasn't very good. It was tucked way back there and was hard to get too. Let me see if I can upload that picture.
There y'all go While looking I also found this one.

The vette is a 73-79 or so, not sure exactly which. Probably the worst era for Vettes, so not really something to cry too hard about.

that red capri makes me sigh... those were sold in Australia as a Laser. Here, they were trying to ride the coattails of the Miata, but were smaller, a little less powerful, but DID have a turbocharged variant, the Capri XR2 which was heaps of fun to drive.

Is it bad that the '87-'90 Caravan is what I'd try to save first?
(edit- I guess it's a voyager going by that grille)
