Who's climbed the highest tower (or thing)? Rooftops not accepted for this category. (unless you had to builder your way to the roof)

I assume, then, that cranes that aren't climbed in their entirety don't count?

The actual height that you made it to. If you and I both climb a 65 story crane but I only go to the 64th level and you go all the way to 65, I can't say we did the same thing.
group nominations also available for all categories

No, i meant cranes where you go 50-60 stories of stairs and then go out on the crane and climb to the top.

i think as long as you don't take the elevator and actually climb the crane it should count.

Yes, cranes on top of buildings count.
Maybe even if you took the elevator. I mean if you social engineered your way in, it should count for something.

On my second trip there, I climbed to the top of Mt Whitney (14,497ft) without a Whitney Zone permit/pass. I akwardly smooth-talked my way past a ranger who asked me for my permit along the trail, and once to the top I entered.............. THE BUILDING (ok so its a single room stone structure) at the top of the summit, and took pictures.

That's gotta count. C'mon, its a really old stone building that noone lives in at 14.5K feet in elevation; and I wasnt supposed to even be there.

I'm willing to let it go as long as nobody disagrees for two reasons:
1- You had to talk your way up the mountain
2- There was actually an abandoned building at the top with a picture of you in it.

I was hoping these categories would stay more exploring related, but that's pretty bitchin. I'd say yes, but it has to be agreed upon by all.

(handheld cellphone pic)

Active railway compound + train garage, including security patrols. Somewhere around 7 or 8 stories up.

Bear in mind this is in a country that is very resistive to ruining its beautiful cities with tall and ugly modern buildings, so the tallest buildings around are rarely more than 10 stories tall (highest I know of is 14). So absolute height is not really a good measure here, because many of you have 30+ story buildings around just waiting to be topped (you lucky bitches, I've never been that high up!)

I recently spent a week with my girlfriend in a small city on the other side of the country, and I couldn't resist a little mischief. I ended up breaking my personal height record. I walked to the 9th floor of a 10-story highrise, and climbed out a window, onto the scaffolding nearby, and from there I climbed up to the roof. I climbed a ladder onto a 1-story elevated platform, and then all the way to the top of a very thin, roughly 4-stories-tall radio antenna. I took some nice shots with my girl's phone (which has an 8Mpx camera, so at least they should be high res), while she was watching me from the street.

She told me some guy in sunglasses walked by her acting all "hot" and proud of himself, and she thought: meh, an average guy. *looks up to a dreadlock taking photos 15 stories up* my guy...

do you have the photos from that climb? that's pretty f-ing awesome.

I'm pretty sure that 70 story crane is gonna top it all though...

It makes me feel warm inside that it was taken so close to my home.

At the same time, it makes me feel ashamed to have never done anything like it, considering how close it is to my home...
