When has it come in handy?

I noticed Parkour and UE have some similar interests but different methods.

So when have you needed your Parkour skills? Any triumphant freerunning from the cops? Decided to cross a site as fast as possible rather than explore it?

I feel like it will come in handy more when I explore more in the city rather than out here in the sticks.

I used my skills to get up to the second floor of an abandoned hospital, but other than minor stuff, I haven't really needed them.

The problem is exploring-type places tend to be dirty, full of broken glass, bad traction, and rusting-through support, while parkour targets are clean, sticky, solid type buildings.

I have made some nice jumps off a few roofs though, and ran up a few walls to get onto roofs (and then in). Mostly though, parkour helps me train my muscles to climb better, even when it's careful climbing, and to run faster, even when it's running away from security.

Its come in handy to me quite often.

In this one mill all of the stairways were rotted to hell so I ended up climbing an old falling apart greasy elevator shaft that people without parkour would never make it up.

also dropping in though skylights into places by hanging and dismounting

shimmying under bridges to get to drains and stuff

and finally using parkour to hop some tough fences to get into some abandonment's.
