Here are some of my recent shots since I have been taking my little camera everywhere now. I eat my lunch at a small railyard near my shop pretty much everyday now and most of the shots are nearby. You can see the depot etc. in the DB http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=26835 Im still working at it so bear with me
This one I was so pissed that I screwed up the shot.

Here in CA, we have 7902's sister, 7903. If I see that closed-top hopper in SJ here, I'll def know where it came from and let ya know. We get alot of UP freight from the mid-west and central states. I wouldn't be surprised if one of ours ended up at yours. If you send me some engine numbers, I can tell you if they've been here or not, or if it's an out-of-state freight load. Excellent shots btw! I hear the 2am freight off of the California Corridor every night. Miss the days by the yard, before UP put up fences. --- Forgot to say, I'll add our local pics on here when I get a chance. I may have one of the 7903, if I was lucky that day. (edit: additional info)

Go for it, the more train shots the better. Poor Raticus has seen all my photos already. Here are some from today.

Raticus never gets tired of train shots.

Hey...that doesn't look abandoned!! youd think this was...but isn't (same railway)
same yard as pic above...
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! |

I like that night shot. Both of them, but that night shot is nice.

I'm surprised you didn't get a picture of my train when it came in!

Here are a few more from Sunday out in Ft.Worth Texas (mostly at Tower 55). *If yall have had enough of my pics just say so and I will gladly go back into my corner Saw a bunch of these hybrid switchers. UP is really getting some use of them. They sound like a car though. The SD behind in this picture seemed to be doing all the work.
This classic was in the same freight

What was your shutter speed? So i can sorta get a benchmark to work off of since trains travel at different speeds.

I'm surprised the she's not converted into UP numbers yet. That yellow reflection strip on her used to be red... Don't loose those SP pics. Once they're converted into UP numbers, you'll never see them in their original state again. What a real beaut though! I love SP engines; the old red and gray design. If you have more SP, I'd like to see them. -- Thanks for sharing & keep 'em coming!

Yeah Ive always loved that scheme the best. Its what I remember as a kid. I think UP has a few of them that they are leaving the grey and red. I believe Ive seen one that had that scheme but UP lettering and numbers. I dont think I have anymore. BNSF also operates at least 4 warbonnet Dash 9s around here.

A break from train stuff. Some recent bus shots in and around Hamilton and Toronto.
HSR hybrid DE41LF, D40LF and MCI Classic in order from left to right. The Classic is probably retired now. Only 6 remain of the original nearly hundred of them. HSR D40LF 0817, delivered only weeks ago. TTC Orion VII signed for Rochester Ferry. Apparently the destination sign code is still in the software and is used occasionally. The Rochester Ferry hasn't existed since 2004.

heh, the one with the roof thing is a DE41LF. It's got the same roof hump as the CNG C40LF's, it's just shorter and has batteries in it.
