Recentesque
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! |

That trestle is gorgeous! Has anyone seen any old N&W markings or equipment? My grandpa worked for them for over 30 years. I used to go to work with him and hang out at the yard in Roanoke. Just curious to see if anything was left, or if they had all been wiped out by N&S.

Hey PCE did we already talk about this? I cant remember. Well anyways, my great grandfather, grandfather and great uncle all worked for N&W. We used to have a bunch of great old lanterns and stuff when I was a kid but they disappeared. I have a couple things from N&W still though The J streamliner is my favorite locomotive of all time. My great uncle D.R. at the reigns of #611
Im sure there are still a couple running around. This place has a N&W Geep that runs excursion trips. http://www.bgrm.org/

Hey Knuckle! Nope, we didn't talk about the railroad!! That is so cool!! My Gramps and my uncle worked for N&W. Maybe more, I'll have to ask. I'll bet good money that our relatives knew one another. N&W was a family. My grampa had some old lanterns and stuff as well. It also disappeared. Maybe there was a railroad thief running around! I hope there are still some N&W locos and cars out there. I love that stuff! Awesome photo and thanks for the link!

Yeah it's me, just got back from calf. You just can't go wrong with train tatts. They will always be cool. And yes, Great Northern rocks. Most of my pics so far are from the highline in Montana and Idaho. Nice short line pics.

Those Rio Grande units are awesome. Ive never seen one come this way before, are they UP? Great shots RG, I really like the way you shoot the tracks (sans trains), they always look great! Ive tried a couple of times to shoot abandoned sidings etc. but never can seem to get the right effect. Good work

The key is to think like a train... Actually, most people shoot the max height of their tripod, but I tend to shoot from the waist down (2-4 feet) in height. Usually, the first glance that you see of the subject (the one that catches your eye), is the angle, exposure, area, etc that you should take. But really, think like a train and you'll get it. -- Some have it; some don't... -R

I hope you acted like a responsible American and took the opportunity to throw as many bricks as possible of the windows of those trucks...
