This is a sad, sad day. http://www.startre.../article/9469.html It will be the first time in 18 years without Trek. And the future doesn't look too promising with no new series or movies on the horizon. I need to go drink.

Whew! Finally. A show that deserves to get canned, does.

How the hell did it win 4 emmy's? Crappy as it was, it was still star trek. Sad.

I can take it or leave it, don't or didn't watch it anyway. Nothing against Trek, i'm sure they'll come up with something else...without Scott Bakula.
I've been feeling funny since I went in that open crypt. Not sure what it is. |

Now let us all get together and pray that it all turns out to be non-canonical. Zef Cochrane had a dream about the future after some bad tequila. Starfleet temporal investigations comes from the future and ends this timeline. Geordi creates another bad holodeck program. Picard time travels back to present day Paramount Studios and screams "The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!" before burning the Enterprise sets down. Whatever. Hey, a girl can wish. hexa

I don't get it.

Even if you don't like the show you must admit this looks very bad for Trek. I predict it's going to be a loong looooong time before we see anything new in the Trek franchise.

With the crap that the franchise has been spewing lately (Nemesis anyone?), I don't think thats a bad thing.

While not as disappointed as the most die hard fans, it is still upsetting to see the show get cancelled. I admit that i didn't watch it regularly, but I expected that I would be drawn to it once it went into syndication... so I guess that will happen soon. Anyone have any ideas/hopes for the final episode. For some reason, the first thing that popped into my head was that they would be destroyed by the Klingons... There was an episode of TNG (EP 189: First Contact) where Picard says that a bad first contact lead to many years of war with the Klingons. They could end it off with something like that... Any ideas?

An ending like that would just piss off the fans of the show even more. I'm guessing they'll wrap it up as best as possible, knowing the star trek series is on it's last leg anyways.

Swanny, go watch the pilot "Broken Bow" The entire episode is about Klingon first contact.

Yeah I know... but the reference from TNG is that they had years of war. They haven't been at war with the Klingons at all... I suggest you watch the episode I referred to.

The Khitomer Accords were signed in 2293 (Haha, no I didn't know that off the top of my head http://www.memory-...p/Khitomer_Accords). Enterprise takes place in the 2150's. If the war were to start at the finale that would mean... Over 140 years of war. Seems a bit.. excessive?

Well I expect they'll try to get the Federation started up soon. Maybe they'll let Travis be on the camera a little instead of being a blurry foreground and disconnected voice... Nah, that couldn't happen Hopefully they will end the series on a really positive note.

I'm sad to see Enterprise go, especially after what Manny Coto has done this season. At the same time, this means that the new Battlestar Galactica will have a better shot at a second season. Hell, maybe Ron Moore can get Manny Coto in on BSG, and we'll see some A+ scifi. Berman and Bragga are the reasons trek sucks. DS9 was non-B&B, and it was probably the last good Trek series. Nobody wants to see peace and flowers anymore. People want action, which means sometime people have to die. That's what I like about BSG, the tragedy of it all. It makes a guy think... what if humanity was reduced to a little less then 50,000 people. Anyone who hasn't seen the new BSG, drop me a PM. I've got most of them in digital format. It's currently airing in the US on Friday night on Sci-Fi. I've got the SkyOne rips for the entire first season. Jolly good tele show, I do say.

On your recommendation I grabbed a torrent of the new Battlestar Galactica miniseries and the first season of skyone rips. WOW, it's fantastic! I was expecting that since it's a remake I wouldn't much like it, but I was really blown away by the story and quality production of it all! I'll definitely be following this one.

The new Battlestar Galactica is great - I'm really impressed with it. I have to admit I like it better than the original but I still love the original Cylons. When that show first came out and I seen those Cylons, I tripped out - they were awesome for their time.

It just got picked up for a second season. Anyone find the new starbuck kind of sucks? Or her character blows. Or her acting blows. I'm not sure which right now. It seems like they're trying way to hard to make her 'man enough?' if thats the right wording, to fill Starbucks shoes. If anyone remembers the original series Starbuck was never that much of a self righteous asshole. He was funny and full of himself in a hammy, unserious kind of way.

You're right, the original Starbuck was very hammy. I like her character but I don't think of her as The Starbuck (kinda like thinking of Pierce Brosnan as just another spy, not James Bond - know what I mean?). It was kinda cool seeing the original Apollo with the new Apollo. Apollo's talking to Apollo!

i've been watching battlestar galactica on and off and alot of it reminds of the first Wing Commander game... i'm glad the CGI and special effects are so much better than the original (2005 vs 1970's). And the best part is it has Edward James Olmos instead of Lorne Greene! This guy IS intensity. Not sad to see Enterprise go. Star Trek has had an almost 40 year run... let it go, mang. Samurai
