Fallback Paper Mill

This completely decrepit paper mill was our fallback spot yesterday, after our prime target proved to be inaccessible. Like almost all visible industrial locations in this area, its been hit really hard by scrappers, vandals, and kids with spray paint. While these locations are undesirable or boring to some, and while they're not my favorites to shoot, they're usually really good places to bring new explorers, as we did in this case, and they're always really relaxing. I love finding photogenic aspects of even the most bombed-out locations, and every trip where I can do so is rewarding. In this case, the little remaining machinery did the trick nicely.

Shame it's been hit so hard, but you achieved your goal, you got some great shots. Really like 5, 8, and 9.

I remember exploring this at night and correctly thinking it was a horrible idea.

That's an awesome fallback! Very nice! Love the pictures of the lathe in the last 2 pictures. Sad that it was let go. 1, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are my favorites. I'm kinda a sucker for limestone.

You would have really liked this place, then. Practically the entire main structure visible in #1 is limestone blocks with brick additions, which made it feel very cave-like inside.

Yeah that is a lot bigger than the limestone place I like. But still its very cool. It seems like its hard to find any limestone buildings like that anymore.

Here's a link to the place that got me hooked on lime stone (Sorry FM's only) I just stare at it in awe. I'd like to go looking around sometime to find some more limestone places or just places in general.
