What camera do you use?

I'm genuinely curious what camera everyone uses and why that is your choice.

By this I mean the normal camera you carry and use most frequently. I have about a dozen or more cameras, but my primary camera, my dSLR is a Nikon D90. So I would answer "Nikon".

I chose the D90 because of its strong body, versatility with lenses, price, and the fact I knew I wouldn't be able to immediately outgrow it.

Nikon D3300, chosen for its decent price and the fact that it's one of the few bodies I looked at that can shoot 1080p 60fps video. Unfortunately, Nikon seems to have really bad compression on video, so for that I probably should have gone with Canon. Luckily it looks a lot better using the 35mm prime for some reason.

I have the Canon Rebel T3i as you can swap lenses with older versions of the rebel lime including the old film cameras.

I've used the Sony A7rII for a little over a year now, but I still use my old Canon lenses with a metabones adaptor. They work as nicely as the native lenses, so I have no regrets. The low light ability of this camera exceeds my wildest expectations.
I'm very happy with this seemingly odd Canon/Sony marriage that has occurred for me.

I've got my reliable Canon Rebel T3, with most of my shooting done on the kit 18-55 lens.

It was an impulse buy right before a trip, but so worth it in the long run.

Nikon D3100 + 18-70mm (and a Bower fisheye on occasion) has been my workhorse for the last six years. It's starting to show its age, so I'm thinking of going up to a D750 + 35mm within the next year or so. Secondary cameras have always been instant film; lately it's been a Polaroid 195 Land Camera, and some form of folding SX-70 or SLR-680.

I've owned and used my faithful Canon 550D for nearly five and a half years now but after so much abuse it's looking very battered.

Out of everyone I have met up with over in the USA so far I am the only person who uses a Canon, everyone else is Nikon....

I find this a bit surprising. Living in the US and all...I can name the people I know who shoot Nikon on one hand... and one of them lives in the UK.

I use a Canon 5DS as a I'm-trying-to-shoot-dammit body, and I keep my prior primary 6D these days as a I-might-want-to-shoot-maybe + backup body.

I own 3 Canons. A Elan 7E 35MM, 20D, and 60D. The 60D has a bad thumb wheel so its out of commission for now. The 20D has been to hell and back and was a CL find a five years ago. It was a wedding camera that I got for a steal and was very well used before my ownership. It has been a very trusty friend for all of my adventures. Which was why I had a lot of expectations for the 60D but sad to say the thumb wheel disappointed me. I know its fixable, just a matter of time.

The Elan Ive had for a few years but haven't really started using it until recently. now and I'm very impressed with its construction. It has a nice quiet shutter (much quieter than my 20D) and surprisingly quiet film feed.

I haven't really messed with a Nikon to be honest, but like any camera, if in the right hands and knowledge you can get some amazing pictures.

I use a Canon 700D (the international version of the T5i) with a Rokinon 14mm f2.8 lens for most of my shots. I also carry a Vivitar 24mm f2 and an Olympus Zuiko 50mm f3.5 macro, both with EOS adapter rings. I have a couple of autofocus lenses, but I almost never use them.

I use a Fujifilm S1500. Was originally going to go with the S700 because it had several accessory lenses made for it, but for the same price I got a camera with 10mp instead of 7mp and 12X zoom instead of 10X.

Now that I've had it for a while, I kinda wish I'd went for the one with the lenses. There's lots you can do with wide angle and fisheye.

I'm using a Canon

I chose a 7d because it's made like a tank and can withstand a heavy amount of abuse.

.... but I'm in the process of upgrading to a 5d mkiii (also a canon) primarily because I want a camera that does better in low-light and has a better dynamic range.

Really? It's been my experience that the two brands are nearly 50/50, but I think Nikon has a little bit of an edge on that figure. That's just my take on it, I don't have any data to back that up off-hand. I've used both, but honestly I prefer the Canon.

*BTW, I still use Canon (my T4i as a backup and my Canon lenses on a Sony)!
