I went to a local abandoned church the other day. We see two people walking out, one has a giant framed photo that was inside the church and the other was a girl with a dslr camera. We park and go inside, my first thought was that the place was on fire. It stunk like smoke and you could hardly see once fully inside. There were four large smoke bombs in the middle of the floor, still warm. Also whoever it was smashed the two front stained glass windows in the door to let some smoke out maybe? I could barely get any photographs as all the stained glass would blow out from all the smoke. I looked up smoke bombs in abandoned church and it brought up LOTS of shots with people doing that. Seems like a pointless dumb thing to do. Was wondering is this a new thing or a dumb thing people have been doing for a while now?
Only nice photo I got out of that section of church due to so much smoke.

I wonder why they find that is a good idea? I'm not even worried about the fire issue if there careful, but smoke pouring out of any abandonment is such a bad thing.

That church is stunning. I can't imagine how you would get a really nice image by smoking out all the gorgeous architecture like that. Disrespectful assholes.

Looked up "smoke bomb abandoned church" and found this article:

Open outdoors space, away from anything that is overly dry and susceptible to catching fire

Water (to pour on the smoke bomb after it has burnt out to ensure safe disposal)
SAFTEY CONCERNS
Fire: Once a smoke bomb has burnt out, dispose of it responsibly and carefully. This is why we recommend carrying water bottles with you when using them. Do not use smoke bombs in overly dry fields, forests, or buildings with a lot of flammable components. Once the bomb has burnt out, immediately dump water into the tube. This will make the bomb safe to dispose of in a trashcan.

Man, that really sucks. I'm getting really sick of the smoke bomb shit myself. As far as the smashing the glass goes, that's just asinine.

I've carried baby powder for this. Used lightly, it leaves no visible trace, only a perty smell. I've used floor "dust" but only while wearing a mask.

I've never really felt the calling to toss dust or powder in the air for special effects. Then again, I'm just taking photos for posterity.

We didn't notice til after they were long gone and we had parked, I'm very glad this didn't lead to any bad situations for you. Did it still stink like smoke inside? I know I've seen the woman on Facebook before, but for the life of me can't remember who she is.

Do what I did to the copper scrapper that destroyed the Pennhurst copula.
First I shoot his tag number & truck, then his vin number, then his dumb ass stripping copper.
Left, then called the staties and sent the images.
I was there that day specifically to shoot what he destroyed. Pissed me the fuck off...
