"Abandoned" Trailer for TV show on Viceland

And I'll post here if it's ok. Since it's going to air on american and Canadian channels

Hey Gang...

We've been working really hard on this show this summer. (colour grading by yours truly) It's finally going to air Sept 2.

Here's a sneak peak

I can't say enough about the show. Every time I screen a new episode I'm totally blown away. They strike a nice balance between art and documentary.

edit:
almost forgot, it's made by the same guys that brought you, "Abandoned Hotel is a Skateboard Paradise - Last Resort: Aspotogan"

True enough. But. One cool thing about this show is that it in now way really talks about it as a hobby or the culture. It comes from more of a socio-historical kind of angle. With a side order of skateboarding thrown in.

Vice exposed one of the craziest abandonments in Korea, including giving away how I managed to get in. It led to way too many international travellers visiting and the property owners decided to tear it down.

And around that exact time, Vice stole a ton of my pictures for another article (about three pictures in this photo essay were not taken by me).

So, I wouldn't trust Vice to ethically produce a TV show about UE.

And since then the place was overrun by people and it got torn down..

edit: not that the hotel was an exciting place anyway.

Considering that Vice has used photos without credit from several folks (including myself) without attribution and payment (which I'm still battling), and has used ol' Joe Melendez (aka Seph Lawless)...

There have been some fantastic shows about exploring. Cities of the Underworld and Off Limits come to mind.

This does not look like it will be added to that list.

I kinda liked Off Limits. When was that even last on, like 2010?

Vice News documentation and everything related to it is some of the best stuff out there. But the inclusion of that stupid guy makes this "urbex" video questionable. Who even cares about that stupid guy? Not me.

2013 I think. The first two season were fantastic, but I started to lose interest as he visited more and more active locations in the 3rd season.

ABANDONED on Viceland-New Cable TV Show
<Reply # 19 on 8/23/2016 6:42 PM >

I imagine that most of you know that Vice has a newish cable TV channel now. It's called Viceland. The other day I saw this trailer for a new show which premiers Sept. 2nd. While it looks like it could be kinda interesting, I feel like it's a whole bunch of unnecessary exposure. I'm curious to see what others feel/think about this.
