What got you into Urban Exploration?
< on 1/9/2016 7:02 AM >
Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
The main reason me an my friends got into Urban Exploration was because we would all use to climb our school roof on weekends and eat Subway on top of it. We got caught once and I stayed away from it myself, but they kept going up there. Later I, once again, go into it. Once I started going up again, me and my friends began to find other places to trespass. This is when we discovered this site and now it has become more of a hobby. So my question for all you vets and mods and premium members out there, what was your first Urban Exploration Experience and/or what got you interested?

PS-Sorry if this question has been answered before, just curious.

What got me into urban exploration?

Why, abandoned buildings, of course!

I first heard about it from infiltration.org.

From there I'd just start wandering around buildings I had a legitimate reason to be in (train stations and schools and the like), found some neat things, then branched out from there.

I've always been interested in abandoned stuff, and climbing things, so it was really just those two things that got me into UE.

I found it a great way to meet single homeless people in my area. Usually on the internet all you get is creeps.

My dad was always fascinated with abandoned buildings and he would send me articles and videos of people exploring different abandoned sites. So I started to do research on my own and then it turned into a hobby. And now I'm in prison.

Kidding. Haven't been caught yet.

I was always into exploring abandon building but never knew there was an actual forum/society out there of people that do it! I though it was simply just called "exploring" but upon searching the internet for abandon building near me I discovered this forum. I think it's awesome. I've been lurking around this forum for the past three months, but just recently joined and started posting on here. It hasn't been the same! I've learned so much from this place and am extremely grateful that it exists.

I got into UE at the fault of movies like As Above, So Below and Chernobyl Diaries. Did a quick search, decided on Linseed and headed out with my mom.
