So the cliche, but popular Linfield that is always a nice place to explore and hangout at, has finally been littered with POSTED signs. Looks like someone finally pissed the caretakers off (or whoever officially owns it) and it was the last straw, lol. There are literally 8-10 signs (KEEP OFF, POSTED, NO TRESPASSING) on just the entrances alone. Be a shame if they disappeared ;)

Some dope probably got injured, trapped, was scrapping, etc. Even the locals liked to walk there. Lol, not really worth predawning... still it is a fun place to shoot, at least it was 8+ years ago... sort of like Pennhurst. Oh well.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

Oh god no ... Trespassing signs...

Yes, you know those signs that get you fines and/or into jail when caught on the property now (since there is no excuse you didnt see them). So feel free to go down and rip them off ;)

Some idiots started a building fire back in March, so that may have contributed to it. Also, i know that the one building that was always sealed up, finally had a door ripped down and was probably vandalized inside

It's been posted before. Had a guard at one time too. All the buildings have been open at one time or another; I've been in all of them.

I was there just a few weeks ago and saw the same thing... but isn't that to expect with any publicly traveled abandonment? I'm not sure what it was like in the years before, but my group was able to figure out that the original owner (I heard his name was Ed?) has sold the property to a real estate company (Remax) which plans to redevelop the lot. Evidently the company installed cameras and the police watch them? Idk. That was coming out of a cops mouth. Pretty sure that bit ain't true though. Saw a white pick-up come through the locked front gate, must have been private security? He must be the one who calls the cops. Anywho, all the buildings are extremely difficult to enter. It looked as though all possible entries were recently cinder-blocked over. I knew just by looking at everything that this used to be a chill place now turned into unwelcomed territory,

The original owner was a distiller out of Philly. One of the coolest buildings has been gone for over 10 years. The whiskey aging building is now complete trash if even standing. Had it's floor give way on me 8 years or so ago. At one time there where miles of stainless steel pipes running overhead in the complex. Most was gone before I first visited. The 30,000 gallon stainless steel holding tank is cool. The secure storage buildings are strange with explosion proof lights, switches, etc and elevators. One building still had all kinds of supplies in it. Unfortunately all the bottling equipment is now long gone.

Are those the two tanks that are fenced in and you can only access them by going through the little hole in the side? Those are absolutely amazing to go inside of and do monk chants, lol, or just sing in general. Ive recorded vocals in there with a few musicians. I could honestly stay in there for hours on end. The reverb is overwhelmingly therapeutic

Wonderful acoustic qualities indeed. Smart idea getting some recordings done in there too. That's my kind of studio! lol

There's only one as far as I know. That was back in 2008. It had a spiral wrap around stair case on the outside. It was about half way down the road that points toward Pennhurst and the river.

Firstly, I never said I did in my comment. Secondly, I was being a smart ass about it. Why do you care about my comment?

Well, I always wanted to check it out, thanks for the update. I'll cross it off my list.

Use google maps to your advantage. If you're smart about it, you can always find some way in. Theres many back & side entrances too

Linfield has been posted before and had patrols at one point. No big deal. If you park around there though all the locals know why you're there. Ten+ years ago there was more to see. Still an interesting place to shoot I'd imagine. The liquor storage buildings are cool if not sealed and they can be sealed up tight if the owner cares to; they were built to be secure with explosion proof electrical fixtures.
