I've been forced to visit Minnesota, which I don't mind, however, the people I'm with are lame and like lame things. They wanted to go to Historic Fort Snelling, which was closed for winter (even though it was the first day of spring.) Anyways, I convinced them to go across the street so I could look at and photograph some old buildings from the turn of the century Fort Snelling in Fort Snelling State Park. Anyways, I took my pictures, found an unlocked building, and did some photographing and exploring. Then, I came to look at this site, and I was appalled that such an obvious place wasn't on here. Maybe it's "hidden" or whatever, but this place is pretty awesome, and worth seeing. I'm wondering if anyones been there, and been into more than one of the buildings? And if they know much about them?? I do know one or two are being repurposed into homes for homeless veterans, but theres another 20 buildings. Theres plenty to see, and I'd love to see some photos from someone else. Sorry if my photos aren't great, I've only had this camera for three days, and its film, and I was shooting blind in the dark with an iphone flashlight hahah

Very nice and thanks for sharing! I have an exact copy of that bathtub in my own house (albeit a BIT less dirty! ;))

I'm always quite interested while driving by, but we've never stopped to poke around. I know people who have been inside years ago, before everything was locked up, though. They'll share their stories, if they'd like to. Rad to see you were able to get inside one of the buildings, with no issues! I think people tend to avoid it because it's a pretty big fine, if caught.

See, it's not like we don't KNOW about this kind of thing. It's much more like we have the good sense not to post about it, publicly, on the internet. Because, you know, we LIKE having stuff that's accessible, and not completely "Bro'd Up" from being posted on the fucking internet. So, you know, thank you, SO MUCH, for making this your FIRST POST on UER, while at the same time, apparently, not even being part of the local community. You, madam, are a prize peach. Thank you, so much!

Nice photos! Especially given the described conditions! I love that first shot.

Woah, a wall that hasn't been tagged! I gotta get a big purple dick on there before the big green dick posse beats me to it! (It's pretty well known locally, but patrolled by several nearby agencies since there are multiple high-security thingys nearby. They also do police dog training there, explorers are like free scooby snacks ).

Awesome find bro, Ima have a PARTY in that building this weekend with FIREWORKS!!!
I want to be different. But I want to be different just like everybody else, because if I really were different, everybody would think I was crazy and weird. Iowa is Minnesota's bitch. There's an art to pooping. | |
Yeah I'm not a big fan of Minnesota myself when it comes to urban exploring, there really aren't many abandonments.

From what i've seen, everything abandoned in Minnesota has been torn down already. I think they hit Fort Snelling yesterday.

I didn't realize those buildings were within the state park. huh. Anyone know what the gated tunnel was for that is under the fort?

I've been meaning to take a closer look at that sometime...

They are not within the boundary of the state park. They are patrolled by federal police. The buildings are immediately adjacent to the federal building, the Airforce base, and the international airport.

Say...what? Granted, a lot of them have been torn down or are being converted into pretentious luxury condos for hipsters, but there's still...a lot...of places...

I think I'm going to find a new hobby.

Would it have killed you to be a little less uninviting considering it was their first post ever? I'm reasonably certain this place won't suddenly crumble because of this thread. If it does, I'll ship you a beer.

Y u so mad? He said "Thank you"!

I'm not mad, I was merely pointing out that being rude - with or without a sarcastic "thank you" - is uncalled for. Would you put up with a fellow explorer beside you acting that way on an explore? I would not.
