Great piece. Smooth, light(13 oz.) and no misfires.
Hammerless double action. Pleasure to shoot or carry.

I vary between the ruger LCP, and my p99 thats really way too damn heavy to ccw with.

thankfully because of a nice law, EVERYONE who can legally own a pistol in alaska can ccw.

I wish I could get the LCP in Mass... They're such pricks about new guns here!

I had to sell my pistola when i moved back to New York from Tennessee, but when I lived down there, I bought an M1911A1 clone at a pawn shop. For those of you have never fired a .45, do so... it's nice.

It takes an act of congress to get a pistol permit here in New York. And the worst part is, from what I have been told, if you are caught with a pistola without a license, you're heading to jail... fast. It's like automatic, or something.

they don't call it the Empire State for nothing.

The mandatory year in jail for having an unlicensed handgun goes back to the 1970's. I remember seeing it on signs as you came out of the Holland Tunnel when I was a kid.

It's not impossible to get a permit, just a pain in the butt. The easiest permit to get is a "premises permit" which allows you to keep a handgun in your home.

Carry permit is damn near impossible. Usually a hefty donation to the right politician gets you over this hurdle.

When I moved back from Colorado they said I couldn't get a permit for my "illegal assault weapons", one of which is a muzzle loader from the Civil War. After hearing that crap, I just skipped the whole BS and I just stuffed them in the closet when I got to NY and didn't tell anyone what I had.

I got tired of NY BULLSHIT and their STUPID gun laws that don't stop criminals from getting guns and moved to Iowa.

I swapped my S&W Tactical .45 for a nice Glock 22...

I'm quite impressed with it, and recommend it.

right now it's a Springfield Armouries XD .45cal in a soft nylon holster that has proved to be vedry versatile for me, whether I want hip carry, strong side appendix, IWB...
I also carry a Para-Ordnance PX14-45 Custom 1911 when I am out hiking with my girlfriend, and she carries the XD.
Both are carried open, for the moment.

I usually start low-price when I get into something.

Bersa Mini Firestorm 9mm

Eventually I'll upgrade but for now I really love this gun. All of the controls are easy to access and it's a concealable size especially for being 13+1.

Springfield Armory XD45ACP 4" service model. And soon to have a Ruger LCP for pocket backup and special occasions (Weddings, funerals, or anything that may require a tucked shirt or less firepower).

I may also be purchasing a sub-compact XD40 or 9mm but I havent really decided for sure on that one yet.

Back when it was new, dont have a current picture put the finish has worn off at the tip and the grip is scratched up a little from being on my side 24/7

So I'm thinking of buying one of these from my friend - Kimber tactical pro II
Does anyone know if this is a comfortable carry pistol for an average size guy? I was hoping that it's fairly compact but I haven't actually seen it yet. I know the MSRP is never quite close to the real price but $600 is a decent price for used isn't it?

thats no different than carrying my Series 70 Combat Commander but Im not an average size guy

get a thin inside the pants holster carry in small of back (Mexican style) loose shirt tail, good to go

ps: $600 is a very good deal for a Kimber in my opinion sounds too good, just make sure some hack didnt work it over, try to "throat it" etc

600 is super cheap for a Kimber. Id like a Pro Carry II, but i cant afford it until my mother in law gets herself back from New York and we dont have to pay mortgage on 3 friggin houses anymore.

It looks to be about the same size as my 1911 clone. Is it the 3.5" barrel. If so you shouldn't have much trouble hiding it. I'm 6'1" and 175 Lbs of skinny and I don't have any trouble hiding mine. I've got a S.O.B. holster and left hip holster (fobus) and the both cover up very well with the right shirt.

Sweet. Thanks guys I'm excited about it. I need to see it to be sure. One kinda weird thing about it - it's two tone with a black slide and silver frame. I can't seem to find an example photo.
As for holster, I've got one of these:

Seems to work well so far.
