i drove one a buddy owned in jasper, terrible in every respect. its very underpowered, the steering is very sloppy, the brakes are terrible and the automatic transmission takes forever to change gears. but for some reason i love it, i like the look somehow and for some reason it just screams perestroika!

sure its going to rust the minute you leave the lot and it wont climb a hill but i love it

I had one of those blow me off of the road in my 325is years ago. I was doing about 140 km/h on the 401 and it passed me like I was in reverse. I caught up to it at a gas station a few minutes later, it had a boosted Mazda 13b rotary in it.

Always thought one would look kinda neat with a mild suspension drop on Minilites or BBSs or something.

Haven't driven one since I was 17, and it all came back to me really quickly... what a brutal little car! It's as finicky as I remember (at least this one hasn't been rolled), the interior plastics are about the same grade as a biodegradable margarine container, and handling and braking are just vague.

I love it.

Based on its technology and standard equipment, it would have been a great little car if it was a 1970 instead of a 1986.
