| | | I once had what must've been an entire station of cops looking for me. Me and some friends were lighting of fireworks in an old abandoned lot once, next to some railroad tracks. The only way in was down the tracks, and through a hole in the fence. Anyway, when we had finished with the fireworks and were climbing through the hole, we were confronted by a single police officer on foot. He told us to stop but being a normal 16 year old kid, I decided to run. I ran down the tracks to a random street and hid in a bunch of thick bushes. I laid down and wrapped myself around the bushes so I'd be as small as possible, I also covered up my watch, any light colors, and zippers that would reflect any light. Anyway, all of a sudden there's 3 cop cars and about 15 cops running up and down the street. Another cop car pulls up on the street across from the tracks. About 8 cops come running about 5 feet from the bushes, the look into them quickly with their flashlights, but somehow nobody sees me. A cop cars shining it searchlight comes up the street, and I'm sure I'm caught.. It drives past, beams me, but keeps on going. I'm starting to think I'm in the clear when it makes a return pass... and suddenly I hear, "THERE HE IS! UNDER THE BUSHES! GET HIM!!" I'm totally swarmed by the cops, weapons drawn. They tell me to roll out with my hands where they can see them, and lay on my stomach. I do so, am promptly searched, cuffed and thrown into the back of the police car where I'm driven back to my friends sitting in a parking lot with the rest of the cops. Apparently some douchebag called the police saying he heard gunshots, and when the first cop arrived and was walking in, he also heard the fireworks (firecrackers and only) and called in a shots fired, which of course, brought the entire platoon. Anyway, after a lot of degrading and lecturing, we were set free with a warning and told to stay out of their town (it was a town nearby, not my home town). I consider myself lucky I wasn't shot.
