Don't step on it!!!
This may sound funny, but it's so true. The ground is often a pretty close match to the color of a stick of dynamite, and by nature in a mine, is rocky. There is usually loose rock and other debris scattered on the floor that you walk over, which often hides things that you *shouldn't* be walking on, so you have to pay careful attention to where your feet are stepping, while at the same time trying not to ram your head into the ceiling =P Blasting caps are usually scattered all over the floor, dynamite is a bit easier to pick out based on the shape, but caps are pretty small. Best advice is DON'T TOUCH IT! Finding coils or lengths of fuse cord is fun, but often can have a blasting cap spliced to an end. if you're looking at a piece of fuse and it gets a bit fatter at one end that looks like a small cylinder about the size of half a cigarette, it's probably a blasting cap. The powders you usually only know what they are cuz they're in bags that say "Explosives" or actually what they are, like the ANFO or some Type B. TL;DR version: DONT STEP ON IT, DON'T TOUCH IT! =) **EDIT** Do what I say, not what I do. hehe. [last edit 1/5/2013 6:51 AM by Therrin - edited 1 times]
Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =) |
