	I wanted a light from the first time I saw the banner, but seeing a fellow South Forum poster's swag star cinched the deal. I snagged 3, probably because I've been conditioned to order 3 of anything where flat-rate shipping is involved, thanks to woot.com. Looks like I missed out on the multicolor lights, though. Darn. Then, I figured I ought to see what people think of the light and found this thread. What a hoot! I haven't seen such high-horse whining about banner ads since the turn of the century. If "kowalski" is still reading the thread, I'd like to let him know that I appreciate the trip down Memory Lane, back to the days when the web was free and pure. Thanks, dude... 	*[update: micro's defective light has been exchanged, free of charge]* Am I the only one who received a light that doesn't appear to be any brighter than a run-of-the-mill xmas tree bulb? Not that I was expecting to be able light up an entire room, but after reading such glowing (hah!) reviews, I'm a little bit disappointed. 	You must have gotten a dud, micro. I've used mine at work when I forgot my Surefire. It's not as bright, but it easily lights up your surrounding area. Unit calling radio say again?

	No, I'm not trying to make a "joke." I don't really care enough to return it either. I'm just curious, that's all. I really have no idea how bright a single LED keychain flashlight is supposed to be.

I just ran a quick test with my camera here:

These two photos were taken with the exact same shutter speed and aperture settings (1/2 sec and F2.6 at 100ISO)

On the left, a Maglite 2AA with two brand-new batteries in it.
On the right, a UER light.

Both lights were positioned in the same place and same distance (about 45 cm from the card)

And here, the lights illuminating my desk, 2-second exposure at F2.6, 100ISO:

I'll leave you to judge which is brighter, but at least the UER light is matching the Maglite, and in my opinion, exceeding it.

	Similar to an Advancedmart keychain light, I believe this light uses the new 35K (5mm) LED. The 35K is much brighter than older LEDs. Powered by two 2016 lithium coin cells, this light has an approximate output of 4.17 lumens. Compare that to the output of a clustered 5mm LED light like the Inova x5 (five LEDs) and that's not bad. 	A 2AA Minimag should produce approximately 8-10 lumens of light. Unfortunately, Minimags lose up to fifty percent of their output within the first thirty minutes of runtime on fresh batteries. Which means most of the time your Minimag is not producing the light it should be. Not to mention the beam pattern and color temp sucks. The beam from the keychain light thoroughly spanks the maglight's.

After I hauled the Minimag 2AA out and threw some new batteries in for this photo, I was amazed at how dim it was -- I remember it being dim, but still, all these new LED lights I use nowadays have really spoiled me.

That's exactly what's in it -- each cell is 90mAh, two of them in series doubles the voltage to 6V, and since it lasts about 10 hours the light must draw about 9mA per hour.

	Got mine yesterday (may have been at the PO since Monday), and they are way cool. I've got one on my keychain, one in my fanny pack, and the other hanging on the wall just in case. Nice and bright. But the best part was probably the cool Canadian stamps (with bizarre, kinda scary Native Ameri^h^h^h^h^hCanadian mask thing), and a note with an offline banner ad. The apocalypse is indeed nigh. I did get a Bag of Crap from Woot, once... it featured a Bandana of Catholicism. Really, it was a bandana with an image of the Virgen de Guadalupe. Picture here.
