You're quoting out-of-date material.

The fines and penalties table is (a) from 2005, and (b) talking about misdemeanors in general. My post was referring to misdemeanors in terms of trespassing.

Secondly, the Connecticut General statutes that you linked are five years old. The CGS that I linked is from 2006. If you care to argue, make sure you're citing laws still in effect.

Lastly, this isn't the place to discuss all the little specifics of this hobby (keeping an attorney on retainer, for one). This thread exists solely to post the (correct) laws of the land.

So the penalties and fines have been drastically reduced? If anything they're worse.

My point is simple; you don't want to be charge with a misdemeanor let alone a felony in any state. It won't be cheap. You will need a criminal lawyer for a misdemeanor charge. Even if your found innocent that will cost at least a grand, if convicted S2+ grand and a criminal record. Even municipal charge can cost over $500 easily, plus all the fun of being there.

It's not a bad idea to chat with a friendly cop or police chief and learn how they do things in your area. Sometimes they will even allow you into sites; a free ride.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

Guess what.

This isn't the thread for making your point. This thread is for posting the laws of the land.

"you don't want to be charge with a misdemeanor let alone a felony in any state." - that's some common sense, eh?

What a coincidence. For the past few days I've been working on an outline/directory of links for all 50 US states. I've still got about 15 to go, so I guess I'd better finish it up and post it ;>
