I was out scouting some other locations for a photo shoot and made a detour to an old abandoned naval base. Sorry no naked girls this go around. Here are some of the shots I got. Ran into another person in the building; wonder if it was someone from here.... 1.

Beautiful photos. I grew up around that area and I used to love exploring that building so much. Really awesome place. Especially if you go up to the very top room with the elevator compartment. Not trying to hijack your thread, but here are some photos I took a few years ago there. Seems like it's gotten even more graffitied since the last time I visited!
I tried to go back there recently, and a bunch of fancy rent-a-cops working for some dystopian sounding company named "Black Talon" harassed me like crazy for even walking around near the building. Haven't gone back since. Did you run into them at all?

No problem adding your own pictures of the place. Good to see it from another prospective and different time. I did not run into any rent-a-cops at all through my wondering around the base as whole. Even did some slight off road driving. I really love that last photo of yours.

Thank you! And that is interesting. I'll have to go back and see for myself. Maybe those rent-a-cops where just having a bad day lol. But this place does seem to be a magnet for really interesting graffiti. I've never found myself wondering who tags buildings but some of these are really interesting. Alot of the really big art pieces you photographed seem to be relatively new too. Glad you liked that last photo. I did a google search of that weird eagle holding a trident and this came up: http://en.wikipedi...l_Warfare_insignia Makes me wonder what sort of operations where done in this building.

awesome thread and the extra contributions are a nice compliment. I haven't been out to this place

This looks super cool. Any hints as to where it is? I'd love to visit over the summer

Very nice. That graffiti really pops.

I probably shouldn't say specifically (I'm still familiarizing myself with the site rules here) but I assume almost every Urban Explorer in the bay area must know of this place. Hint? Ok... A Fiat commercial recently shot here Here are two more pics I dug up. I climbed up to the top to chill behind that giant satellite dish thingy.
Then I just hung out on the lower roof to catch the sunset.
I must admit, I'm obsessed with rootftops. If I see an abandoned building, I will always try to get onto the roof somehow.

After a review of the area, a feeling of deja vu swept over me and I just realized I got kicked out of here big time. Dogs, cops, fire, security showed up and instantly decided to stage a trespasser removal/capture training seminar. Sigh!

I don't normally like graffiti, but the work in this place is pretty sweet.

UER has no rules about disclosing the location of a site. However, some users dislike it out of fear that it will attract scrappers and vandals to the site or alert the owner to seal the site. For some people, this objection extends even to photographing the front of a building. Others reason that those things will happen no matter what we do, so why not share end enjoy while we can. UER does have a rule against disclosing a site's POE in writing or photographs. There is nothing to stop sharing of locations and POEs by PM or other means of one-to-one communication.

That's a microwave radio dish antenna. My guess is it would have been pointed at Mt Diablo or Hunters Point.. /-/oolie

That place is fun, was there in February last year with 5alive. Alot of it isnt terribly hard to get into but it is patrolled by some annoying pricks. If you go a bit farther north to a "self-tour" area theres the officers barricks that arent patrolled. Pretty cool area.
