| | | | Carnie Graveyard?? < on 3/16/2009 1:44 AM >
| | | Someone told me that there is a 'carnie graveyard' in Paris, TX. I'm going to Paris tomorrow to tie the knot, and thought maybe we would try to find it after we're done. This guy said there is suppose to be some very unusual and interesting headstones and they would make for some pretty awesome pictures.
Anyone else heard of this? I tried Google, but came up with nothing.

| | | By carnie graveyard, do you mean: a) A graveyard for deceased carnival employees; b) A graveyard for decommissioned carnival hardware, or; c) A graveyard for a family named, unfortunately, "Carnie"?

...and hold up a sec. You mean to tell me your honeymoon is going to be at this alleged "carnie" graveyard? Or does "tie the knot" mean something else in Paris?

| | | She's probably too busy enjoying the married life, hopefully she managed to find it and get some pics, I would love to see what carnie grave stones look like, I found a wiccan graveyard in CO years ago and that was rather cool.

| | | Thats what I was about to say. She just got married. Last thing I'd be doing after just getting married is looking at the internet. I'd be looking at other things.

I always meant to go to the Wiccan Graveyard in CO! I just never wanted to drive to see it. And now the name of the town completely escapes me I remember it starts with a B and I keep wanting to say Brighton, but I know it's not that. gahhh. The only thing I could find on a graveyard in Paris, TX was a Jesus wearing cowboy boots as a headstone. I know there are some books out about carnie graveyards and elephant graves which I will have to hunt around to find the links. I've got them buried somewhere...

| | | I didn't know there was an official wiccan graveyard in CO, one I found was in Meeker, it was on top of a mesa, had lots of tombstones covered in wiccan symbols, it was in with the regular cemetery just off to the side, it had it's own corner. I was rather surprised, to bad I didn't have a camera back then.

| | | The only interesting thing I know of in a paris cemetary is Jesus in cowboy boots. Yes it is real. There is another interesting marker there but I dont remember what it is. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/1292

| | | You guys crack me up!!
Yeah, I was off in Paris getting married... had a wonderful day and explored some pretty cool stuff. What else would you do on your wedding day?
We didn't find a 'carnie' graveyard, but did find the Jesus wearing cowboy boots...
A lady from a nearby burial service stopped to congratulate us, (She saw the 'Just Married' on the back of my car... ) and gave me a rose. (Probably from the deceased ones grave...) We saw this:
And then went to take some pictures at the Eiffel Tower. I didn't see musket boy up there, I don't think it's high enough for him to even bother with. Besides, there was a warning:

| | | if they gave him cowboy boots, they should have gone all the way and put a hat on him too...maybe have him holding a lasso...oh the stereotypes...sorry. Anyway, hope you have many glorious years of blissful marriage.
