| | | Many of the places that I visit, seem to have last been updated in the DB around 2006/2007. Without anyone uploading new photos, it makes me wonder if the location is still existing. It also makes me wonder why nobody else has uploaded any pics since that time. Even if Google maps indicates it is there, there may not be a point of entry or it could be active once again. It would be nice (although not realistic) if UE entries could be updated every year or two by those who created them. Again, not realistic given that some may require extensive travel to get to [by the original creator] but would save on some dead ends. For these reasons, I try to make it a package deal whenever I travel so that if one place doesn't pan out, there's a backup. [last edit 2/24/2009 4:57 PM by Intrinsic - edited 2 times]

| | | Posted by MutantMandias So, do you burn them down after you post them, or after you poop in them?
|
My poop is so hot that IT burns the place down.. then I post about it
I will defeat that which was once untouchable only so that I may now move on |

| | | I hate it when I see a rusty place that seems abandoned but then I look it up in Sat. imagery only to see full parking lots.

Never trust Google Earth. The building I'm standing in right now is allegedly a parking lot.

| | | Wah wah fucken wah, oh no the online resource which provides my list of decay tourism locations doesn't have high-res satellite maps, up to the minute security/access information and an explorer hotline phonenumber to call when things go bad. Perhaps some would do well to consider that once you've compiled a checkbox list of sites with access details, then printed it off into a nice brochure it's merely tourism. tldr: bitches.

I'm not complaining about it, I trust my own recon more than sitting in my room researching it online.

| | | I'll do a very high level view of Google Earth and then just drive off in a direction that looks like it might be somewhat fruitful. If I come across something that I'm unsure of it's status then I'll mark down where it is and see what I can find out online and go back at a later date. I'll usually find something that is worth the look when driving around, granted a lot of that is abandoned farm houses/ranch land, but I still enjoy looking at them.
