| | | Full Moon Fun! < on 12/17/2008 7:47 AM >
| | | I've never got why everyone likes to shoot with the full moon so much, until this month. What do you think? How did I do?

| | | If it weren't for the stars in #1 and #2, I wouldn't have thought that they were night shots. #3 is amazing. It would be cool to see that shot composed horizontally.

| | | Beautiful! I wished I had taken my camera with me to work the other night, it was so pretty out. Good thing probably, I would have gotten carried away and been late.
A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind. |

| | | 1) The composition is a bit off; I think the subject is too centered. 2) Cool shot... it's be nice if you could get more of the city glow in the pic, too: my eye is fighting between the stark buildings and the neat orange glow seeping in. 3) My favorite out of them... though it would help to straighten the horizon lines on it and maybe get a little lower next time for that oh-so-nice night sky gradient. I'd like to see more like these, so keep posting and keep shooting. One tip I have for shooting the moon is that the full moon has the best light a couple days before and one day after it's "full" on the calendar. It's a little brighter and bigger. Also, the lower in the sky it sits the warmer the hue of light it casts. Safe exploring,

| | | Thanks everyone for your comments! I've really enjoyed the moon this month, but next month I'll be in Hawaii for it!

I took a number of shots that night, but for some reason the horizontals didn't have the same feeling to me...

Normally I do make sure my horizon is straight, but there is no straight line in that picture. Because of the shape of the bay and mountains, nothing ever comes to a straight point in real life... Hence the weird horizon.

You're right the vertical shot gave the scene a sense of isolation... as if it was marooned in a deserted island.
