| you're talking El Duce, right? Edit: Sleep Bandits lyrics We´re creepy crawlin´ through the night We´re lookin´ for some pussy good and tight Hopefully you will be drunk and asleep For us to sink our dicks in deep Little Betty wasn´t too frisky When she passed out from the whiskey Then we gave her knock-out pills To help us get out thrills Now she´s conked out from whiskey and wine it´s time for us to form a line She was passed out and stripped in bed We knew that she would give us some head We´re the sleep bandits, can you stand it We´re the sleep bandits, can you stand it I´m a sleep bandit, can you stand it Sleep bandit, can you stand it

| | | Kurt wrote terrible lyrics | I disagree!!! http://www.youtube...atch?v=clg9AziTfI4 Nirvana's music is a mix of 'punk' sound and pop. That's it. The riffs are extremely simple and catchy. Everything's a hook in the songs, especially Nevermind. Then he just tacks on lyrics that drive him, and there ya go, a song. It just so happened that when he wanted to make a more pop album, many kids were extremely sick of the processed rock crap at the time. Nevermind hit at just the perfect time with the perfect audience, for the perfect storm. A guitarist who hates the limelight, and swarming fans. He did everything he could from that point on to try and turn down the spotlight, and it all backfired (in utero is a noisy album, live unplugged was meant [by kurt] to turn off the audience, etc.). He wasn't a good guitarist... he liked the 3 chord form and single plucks with a major amount of feedback. Half of his 'solos' just mimic his lyrics, random noise, or a weak attempt at technique. His voice was great sounding, as it was really really precise, but a huge amount of gargle and rasp. As far as the suicide goes... to me it's still up in the air. 80/20 percent it was suicide/murder I say, but I'd still like it reopened. Personally, I really like Nirvana. But I suggest you listen to their live stuff or homebrew albums... I think it's much better than the stuff made in the studios. I'm surprised that there hasn't been another band to come along and break this processed pop/emo/nu metal shit from all over. Udate: Did someone say rape in the street? http://www.youtube...atch?v=XYaAhGfAaq8 El Duce all the way!

| | | Nirvana, led by Cobain, changed the existing musical tableau with one song. Once the band broke with Nevermind, the entire industry machine changed gears. Popular music was never the same after that. I can thank Nirvana for killing Axle Rose, Bret Michaels, and every other fruitcake bleach blond shrieking spandex-wearing pouty-faced motherfucker who somehow managed to carve out a career as a 'recording artist.' And that includes Metallica.

| | | personally, I'm not that keen on Teen Spirit... but it has it's moments as well. Lithium, on the other hand, has a great sound, and the lyrics hit really close to home for me... Metallica killed themselves. I enjoy their music too (especially Justice), but the band's attitude changed, the music changed, but the fans didn't.... hence the fall from supreme glory, to the constant longing of "the good ol' days"

| Yeah, I was never a huge fan, but this is a great description of what Nirvana did to the world.
