| | | Joplin Depot (Joplin MO) < on 5/26/2008 5:47 AM >
| | | Has anyone ever been inside the Joplin Depot (of course in Joplin, MO)? I was in the area and took some quick photos but due to it getting dark I couldn't look around to much. Here's a photo of it, my brother lovingly refers to it as a hobo hotel. It has a chain link fence around it and is private State of Missouri property.

Haven't seen it but would love to.

| | | i'm up that way every so often, i'll keep my camera with me. there is another old depot in Big Cabin, OK that i need to stop and shoot.
...the wings on my shoes shrank now the moths won't eat my kidneys, when i shake my state capital it only yields 3 fairy napkins, but how do i know my banana slippers are like water boats because when the moon winks it burns my hamster punches, and that's how you get to llama school rowing your canoe backwards up main street when the front bumper falls off, do mermaids get to drink orange juice? |

| | | It's near the old part of down town and there's actually an old faded sign on the road. I've been through the town dozens of times and missed it so you have to definately look for it.

| | | I'm in the are and took some more photos of the depot. My brother and I walked the fence around the outside. The wierdest thing happened though. They have these new signs that say "No Tresspassing 24hr. survelience", which of course seems like bull since there's no cameras or anything. But, while we were there this guy pulled up in a mini van and took a couple of photos of my truck then drove off - So, maybe that's the 24hr survelience.

| | | Here's some recent photos of the Joplin Depot
This is the side that used to meet the tracks that have been removed and moved back.
This was originally next to the tracks.
The walk up to the main building from the tracks.
The fence that keeps you from getting inside (which isn't a really big deal since the building doesn't have any walls now).
Joplin.
The front that used to face the parking lot and road - it's hidden now behind a building but you can get a good view of it from the post office's parking ramp. Well, that's the Joplin Depot. I would've gone inside if the wierd guy didn't come take a photo of my car when I was contemplating it.
