| | | try http://www.amazon....8&language=en%5FJP they seem to have issues 1, 2 and 3. havent found the actual magazine website yet just the publishing company. I have issue 3, with the Gunkanjima pics, and a lot of other ruins or weird places in Japan. [last edit 3/27/2007 3:39 PM by drzeus - edited 1 times]

| | | Posted by DoomPenguin http://www.amazon....=1173059197&sr=1-1 That has a section on some pretty known abandonments, pictures, histories, and stories from people who've visted. The rest of the book is on ghost stories, weird sites, and roadside attractions and such. Pretty interesting overall.

| | | Just picked up "The Works - Anatomy of A City" by Kate Ascher today, and would highly recommend it for anyone interested in how cities function on a daily basis. It uses NYC as an example, but a lot of the information is relevant to any other city ou there. It's really well thought out. Great illustrations too. http://www.amazon....=1177209709&sr=8-1 Also somewhat related, is "Waterworks: A Photographic Journey through New York's Hidden Water System." I've only leafed through it, but it looks like it's one worth picking up. It seems to be a bit better than some of the other NYC books out there. Excellent photography mixed with a fair amount of old archive material. You can find it here: http://www.amazon....=1177209730&sr=8-1

Ninja wrote it. Everyone here knows, or knew him. He passed away recently.

The second printing is almost sold out now, but I will have a new book in spring 2008 called "Night Vision: the art of Urban Exploration" published by Chronicle Books. It'll be more night photography, but this time shot in abandoned military, hotel, train station locations as well as more aircraft boneyard and desert locations. | | | Thanks to Kowalksi for lending me this one: Outside Lies Magic - Regaining History and Awareness in Everyday Places http://www.amazon....ness/dp/0802775632 Parts of it are a bit too much, but its worth reading, especially for anyone who views urban exploration as more than just gallivanting through abandoned buildings. Also, Infrastructure: A Field Guide to the Industrial Landscape (http://www.amazon....cape/dp/0393059979) is now available in paperback.

| | | My favorite UE book(s) are the Japan Underground series (3 books) not on Amazon, so you have to get your mate in Japan to pick one up. can't tell you the author because it is written in Kanji Most amazing UE photography I have ever seen. Some out of this world locations.
