| | | Are those upholstery nails on a chair of some description? It's an odd shot that I can't decide if I like or not, mostly because I can't tell what the subject is. The more I look at it, though, the more it grows on me- I like the line of nails and the focus on just one. Abstract, but cool.

| | | Cool, but small and it doesn't show anything. Abstract is neat when it's interesting, but you missed on this one.

| | | Technical details on both your bethany shots - looks like a scan of a bad laser print. The horizontal banding on both looks familiar (I have to scan some real shit for work sometimes). Either that or your camera needs servicing yesterday. Also, very flat, no shadows. Maybe your monitor needs calibrating? As for the subject, abstracts are cool, I like this one better than the other. Seems a little more composed. Still not quite there yet though, imo.

| | | What is this photo showing? I have no idea what I'm looking at. It just looks like some lumps suspended in an extremely narrow DOF that needs to be color balanced. Macros are neat, but this just doesnt say anything as a photograph. I also dont like how the composition is off center. Sometimes the off center composition works. It usually works in subjects that are angular and geometrical, but this is not so I would center it to improve the composition. [last edit 2/26/2007 10:46 PM by tron_2.0 - edited 1 times]

| | | I can't quite tell what I'm looking at, but I like your subject. This isn't really good when one focuses on only technical aspects, but the more I look at it, the more I like it.

| | | I like this. Your subject is clear and the empty space actually works here, possibly because of the fuzzy light in the background, and your subject is just cool. This is good work, keep it up.

| | | Creep-O-Rama! I like the fact that it's not obvious what the subject is. At first it looks like some kind of fossilized snail or sea creature type thing, that's fused with, (eating or mating with) that pipe. Nice lighting, limited color palate, and soft background works to add mystery. Maybe it's an upside down old style lamp of some sort. You might try cropping the top of the photo to get rid of most of the soft focus 'lamp' part of the shot. It's a bit distracting, and cropping will put more attention on the main part of the image. A wider framing will compliment the long horizontal subject matter. If you do a series of work in this style, you will soon have a body of work with your own look. Good luck. Abstract art: "a non-representational artwork, especially a painting." (Wikipedia)
